A Witch in Notting Hill: A Novel – A Whimsical Paranormal Romance of Spells Gone Wrong and Unexpected Love in London

343 pages Publisher Avon a Pub Date Aug 11 2026

ABOUT THE BOOK

When rising Hollywood actress and secret witch Willow James accidentally turns her manager into a cat while trying to escape her contract, she’s sure she’s hit her magical low point. Determined to fix her mistake, she journeys to London in search of a rare spell hidden within the famed occult bookstore, Coven & Codex. The last thing she expects? The shop’s brooding, handsome owner, Oliver Hadley, who’d rather avoid magic altogether.

Together—with a ragtag group of friends (both human and feline)—Willow and Oliver must scour every corner of the city, from museums to festivals to bustling street markets, to find the missing pieces of the spell. Along the way, Willow’s unpredictable magic and Oliver’s skeptical heart will face the one thing they can’t escape… love.

Filled with enchanting adventures, sparkling romance, and a dash of mischief, A Witch in Notting Hill is a sweet and spirited tale of discovering magic where you least expect it.

MY THOUGHTS

t’s always a great idea to break out of a reading rut and try a new genre once in a while and it paid off. I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would.
Secret witch and American actress, Willow James fumbles the bag this time and accidently turns her manager into a cat with one of her spells when she refuses to do a romantic movie.
The only thing is to be able to reverse the spell she has to travel to England to an Occult bookstore to find a certain rare spellbook. To make matters worse the owner, her age has no belief in the spells and such as it’s an inherited bookshop.
This was such a fun book, the Fall vibes were right on, a slow burn romance, quite the adventure and witchy magic sprinkled throughout this book.
Quite the read, so enjoyable!

MY THOUGHTS

This book! It’s fabulous! Halloween Town or H-Town as the locals call it is full on Halloween vibes 24/7 365 days a year and I loved the romance in it.
Solstice Springs is where you’ll want to put up your cutout pumpkin decorations while sipping a pumpkin spiced latte and eating watermelon.
Will grab the second book as soon as it comes out!

About the Author

Joss Wood writes romances featuring messy emotions, simmering attraction, sharp banter, and the kind of happily-ever-after that makes all the emotional damage worth it. Her books set in Solstice Springs feature a very quirky small town, lovable chaos agents, nosy neighbours, invested ghosts, all-year-round Halloween energy, and enough spice to fog up a window or two.

She’s been writing stories forever and has written more than eighty books for various publishers. She strives to create characters who are flawed, funny, emotionally vulnerable, and deeply relatable. When she’s not writing, she’s usually over-caffeinated, under-exercised, planning her next trip, or being emotionally manipulated by her two cats and her enormous, spectacularly badly behaved dog.

Married with Benefits

384 pages Publisher Putnam | G.P. Putnam’s Sons Publication date Jul 21 2026

ABOUT THE BOOK

A trope-filled delight of a rom com about two strangers who enter into a marriage of convenience that becomes anything but convenient.

For better or worse is just the beginning.

Lainey Davis can’t wait for the day she’ll be able to escape her tiny Wisconsin town. But she’s not even close to covering her health insurance premiums and pricey migraine medication, let alone saving up enough to start over some place new. That is, until Lainey learns that through the archaic legal doctrine of adverse possession, she’s inadvertently squatted her way into owning a marvel of modern architecture.

But Lainey owns only the house. The surrounding property, a lakeside money pit the previous owner used as a front to deal illegal reptiles, has been willed to Elliot Hodges, a D.C. architect who wants to rent out the place to fellow architecture lovers. Their assets are tied together, but neither can move forward without the other.

Desperate, Elliot proposes an unconventional arrangement: marry him for health insurance and in exchange, Lainey will allow him to buy her out. Win-win: Lainey will finally have a way out of town, and he’ll own the house designed by his idol. Married in name only and living together while fixing up the property, Lainey and Elliot find themselves unable to keep their hopes, dreams, or bedsheets from getting entwined. And as their connection grows, Lainey’s no longer sure what’s more terrifying: leaving Elliot behind or letting him in.

MY THOUGHTS

A cute summer read perfect for getting into lounging by the pool with your cool drink.
You’ve heard of fake dating well this is a marriage of convenience or a fake marriage with benefits.
They can’t stay away from each other as it’s a mutual reciprocation and they are both benefitting greatly from this marriage. But when it becomes more than what they need and their lives, hopes and dreams are intertwined it becomes magical. Fun and witty banter and a cute relaxation read.

Yours For The Season

336 pages Publisher Ballantine | Dell Publication date October 7, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

Could a fake relationship with your ex over Christmas in Scotland be the perfect opportunity for revenge—or a second chance at love? One woman is about to find out in this charming holiday romance from the author of Always, in December and A Winter Wish.

Melanie hasn’t had a good year. Her work life isn’t what she dreamed it would be, her best friend has moved to the other side of the world, and Finn, the man she was sure was the love of her life, dumped her. In front of everyone. At his sister’s engagement party.

So when Finn shows up at Mel’s doorstep two weeks before Christmas, asking if she’ll help him, her first instinct is to slam the door in his face—or punch him.

But he has a proposal for her: Spend the week of Christmas with him and his family in a vacation cottage in the Scottish Highlands. His mother is obsessed with the idea of a perfect Christmas—and to make this dream come true Finn told his mother that he and Mel are dating again. All Mel has to do is come with him and pretend they’re back together.

Mel may hate Finn, but she loves his mom. So she agrees—on one condition. At the end of the week, Finn will allow Mel to publicly dump him so that she can get her dignity back and he can experience the same humiliation she felt.

It’s only a week. Mel can pretend to still be in love with Finn for one week, surely. Except as the festivities bring her closer than ever to Finn and his family, Mel starts to lose track of which feelings are fake and which are for real.

MY THOUGHTS

Who stayed up until 1:30 a.m. reading this last night? Yep, read it in a few hours and just couldn’t put it down.
One thing I’ve noticed about the author’s books are they’re so darn emotional, and that’s what makes them so good. Books you can connect with, books that make you want to come back to them and definitely look forward to the next one.
As far as I know the author writes one book a year and they’re always Christmas books and I’m okay with that. I love Christmas books!
Maggie still has feelings for Finn, not that she’ll admit it to anyone including herself. He broke up with her though at his sister’s engagement party in front of everyone with no explanation to her and she feels made a fool of.
When he shows up at her door six months later asking for a favor, she wants to punch his lights out and slam the door in his face.
He proposes fake dating so his family will have a perfect Christmas, his mother is obsessed with Christmas and he’s doing it to make her happy.
She loves his mom, so she agrees.
This involves staying at a cabin in Scotland with his family over the Christmas holiday week. Touching is allowed only when the family is looking, sweet nicknames too.
What if this brings back a flood of memories for both and they start to really fall in love all over again in this second chance at love story?
Now the emotional part, there’s secrets his family is keeping from each other because they want everyone to have the perfect worry-free Christmas.
When one family member’s secret becomes unkeepable how will this affect everyone’s Christmas fun?
Can this be a love to stay this time or will it end after Christmas is over?
Sweet, Charming and Emotional.
Great read!

The Christmas Yes List: A Heartwarming Holiday Novel

352 pages Publisher Thomas Nelson Publication date October 6, 2026

ABOUT THE BOOK

SOON TO BE A STREAMING ORIGINAL MOVIE!

All she wants for Christmas is a rejection.

Chloe Hollis is done being a people-pleaser. After one too many bad decisions–including a job that asked her to cross a line she couldn’t–she’s determined to change. Her plan? Collect ten nos before Christmas by asking strangers for the most ridiculous favors she can think of.

It should be easy.

But then? Then she meets James.

Instead of shutting her down, the charming out-of-towner keeps saying yes–to Christmas karaoke, to small-town holiday traditions, to every spontaneous, hilarious, totally chaotic idea she throws his way. And the more he says yes, the harder it becomes for Chloe to stick to her plan . . . or protect her heart.

Because James has a reason for saying yes to everything, too–and it might cost them both more than they bargained for.

As their opposite missions collide in a swirl of festive mishaps, unexpected courage, and undeniable chemistry, Chloe starts to wonder if the biggest risk isn’t rejection after all . . . but saying yes to something real.

Christmas stockings hanging on a fireplace mantel above a roaring fire, with a decorated Christmas tree nearby
A warm living room decorated for Christmas with stockings, a tree, and a glowing fireplace

MY THOUGHTS

I can’t believe I haven’t read this author yet with how many books she’s written. Then I console myself by saying, well you can’t try all the authors. I sure have fun trying though.
Grab your hot chocolate, cozy blanket and your pets, once you start this one you’re not going to want to stop.
A cute and humorous rom com filled with Christmas joy.
Of all places to meet they met at the airport.
After reading a book on self-improvement she makes a pact with herself to learn how to stop being a people pleaser.
What started out as a game gets confusing when she assumes he’s read the same book and is doing the same thing but learning how to say yes to things.
I loved the dialogue James and Chloe had, so much fun and humor in the story.
Great read.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

MY THOUGHTS

One of my favorite rom com authors. If the author has a new book releasing, you better believe I’m there for it.
Her books are always such a ray of sunshine and give me just the lift I need.
In this one our mfc is done dirty. Her best friend and boyfriend start a relationship. Well, there goes the best friend idea.
But what she does next is unexpected but serves her Ex-boyfriend right.
I chuckled my way through the whole book because it was fun and funny. Realastic and not realistic at the same time this book really is just what I needed. Our mfc shows such character development and growth, trying new things and showing a great way of getting back the confidence she had lost. A new relationship starts in the most unexpected way, and I was there for it.
I was rooting for the underdog the whole time and loved this book. Looking forward to many more books by the author.

Hearts in Circulation: A Christian Contemporary Fall Rom-Com Book-about-Books with Forced-Proximity, Grumpy-Sunshine, and Pen-Pal Romance (Checking Out Love)

304 pages Publisher Bethany House Publishers Publication date November 18, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

Can a rundown bookmobile be the vehicle that brings two unlikely hearts together?

Little Creek’s bookmobile is more of a death trap on wheels than a vehicle of literary delights, and circulation librarian Hayley Holt is afraid it’s going to careen down a mountainside with her in it. Yet she sees it as a way to serve her community and be worthy of the liver transplant that saved her life as a child. However, her fears come true when the bookmobile breaks down and a rockslide traps her in the small hollow of Turkey Grove.

Reclusive mechanic Levi Redding lives in tiny Turkey Grove to get away from people. He can handle getting the bookmobile running again, but the endless chatter and unsettling touches from the vibrant librarian leave him overstimulated. When forced proximity leads to a misunderstanding, a note of apology begins an epistolary friendship, proving that sometimes the happiest of endings aren’t contained within the bindings of a book.

MY THOUGHTS

The book has such a cute cover and with the title it would be super cute with a Valentine’s Day cover. Though this is the second book in the series it is my first by the author. I’ll now need to read the first.
Such a fun theme for a story, a traveling bookmobile van, a very old one. I love this idea of bringing books to rural areas with no access to books.
The characters are perfectly flawed which makes them more realistic and relatable.
The story centers around the librarian driving the rat trap of a bookmobile.
A rockslide during one of her delivery runs leaves her stranded in Turkey Grove and a whole lot happens before she can leave.
One of the characters has sensory processing disorder. Different people have different triggers for this. A grumpy-sunshine romance, the romance is spot on you can feel the genuine connection the characters have with each other and the understanding they have for each other. We can see how much the librarian enjoys her job and really puts a lot into it.
This gives you a real feel in this small-town charming country romance. I’d love to meet the characters again in another book in the series. I hope it continues.

I was given a complimentary copy of the book.

Winter Whimsy at Golden Sands Bay

272 pages Publication date May 19, 2023 Boldwood publishers

ABOUT THE BOOK

When Lexi Davies discovers that her father has sold the fishermen’s cottages that she lives in and runs as holiday lets, she is furious and heartbroken. Lexi realises that her whole future at her beloved cottages is now over.
New owner, handsome, Scottish entrepreneur Oliver Whimsy arrives on the island in a blaze of glory and immediately upsets the locals.
When he offers Lexi her old job, she’s unsure whether to accept but needing a roof over her head for the winter, she finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Pride does not pay the bills.
As they get to know one another, there’s far more to Oliver Whimsy than she or anyone else had imagined.
What heartache is Oliver trying so desperately to hide from?
And why was he so determined to buy the cottages?
Lexi is on a mission to find out…

MY THOUGHTS

So charming, what is not to love when you live in a brilliant cottage on the boardwalk overlooking the breathtaking sea. Going out your front door, the sea spray cools you and the view is amongst the best you’ve ever seen.
Lexi Davies seems to be living the charmed life, living on the boardwalk in a cottage and renting out the other two is the perfect supplemental income for her. It’s also the last link to her mother she has left as they were owned by her mother and passed onto to her.
When she finds out her father has sold them out from under her, she is more than devastated.
Sold to a Scotsman, Oliver has his reasons for buying them and it’s actually a pretty good one.
Would it be weird to start to have romantic feelings for him? Would he think it was weird? Would she lose her friendship that is newly started? Ugh, so much to think about, should she try to take that first step?
When something unexpected happens in her family will she embrace the changes, or will it be a hinderance to all she has accomplished so far?
A heartwarming rom com about the choices you make not only affecting yourself but those closest to you. Warmth, family, choices, personal growth and friendships all blossom in the gorgeous book.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

🍂 Sparks are flying in more ways than one…

Purchase Link – https://mybook.to/FireworksAtPennycres

MY THOUGHTS

I’ve really been enjoying the Pennycress inn series, this is number three in it.
After stressful years of overexerting herself with more on her plate than she can manage Polly is ready for a change and to do something she feels will improve her life and give her the relaxing change she needs.
Giving up teaching and welcoming a new job at Meadowfield Nature Reserve with a promotion in three months’ time is just the balm she needs.
The Cotswolds are so beautiful, and she knows it’s the new start she needs with all new work mates to welcome her in and befriend her.
But then she sees a familiar face, an ex-colleague who is also new there. To make matters worse the so called promised promotion seems to have been a miscommunication and is up for grabs with her ex-colleague Zac in the running for it as well.
How could it possibly get any more awkward……. but then she realizes they’re both staying at the Pennycress Inn and avoiding each other is really not an option. I love the inn and its familiar characters. They feel like friends already, so warm and welcoming.
This story is filled with tension, the good kind that had me not able to put it down because you just know it’s going to turn out well.
Loved the characters and Polly and Zac’s story and as always look forward to the next in the series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Blog Tour for- Autumn Wishes & Fireside Kisses : (Little Duck Pond Café, Book 42)

Autumn Wishes & Fireside Kisses

A Hallowe’en wedding is taking place in Sunnybrook! One well-loved Little Duck Pond Café regular will be walking down the aisle at a reputedly haunted manor house miles from anywhere – and it’s set to be the spookiest and most fun Big Day ever. But when the local river floods and the wedding party is stranded there overnight, weird things start to happen. Are ghostly antics at play here? Or is there something far more sinister going on? Will the wedding even go ahead?

MY THOUGHTS

Little Duck Pond Café has another book out and I just can’t get enough of this series. Every book I read in this series has some of the original characters, but we always get to meet new friends as well. Each book is a blast and the stories so fun and charming.
This one involves a Halloween wedding; I love this idea. Plans are coming along swimmingly, and the wedding is set to take place at a reputedly haunted manor house.
A spooky and stormy night leaves the wedding party stranded at the eerie manor overnight. When strange things start going bump in the night and secrets come to light will the wedding even happen? The Halloween wedding planning from the decorations to the spooky manor to the cake theme sounded like such fun. The extra mystery had me intrigued and kept me reading. Once again, I’m on the lookout for the next book in the series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
