Blog Tour For The Pop-Up Cake Shop

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Pop-Up Cake Shop

Ever the entrepreneur, Ellie is planning to bring cakes to the people with her Travelling Cake Van! But as she’s ‘expecting’ to make a rather more personal delivery of her own very soon, will Katja be the one to get behind the wheel of this fabulously mouth-watering journey into the countryside?

MY THOUGHTS

Another lovely novella length story in the Little Duck Pond Cafe series. I’ve read so many of them and have no plan of stopping now. Each one keeps getting better and better. When I read one, I am instantly transferred back with the characters for a visit and a cup of tea. The characters I easily remember from past stories, and we meet a few new ones in each story as well. This story is warm and welcoming, like visiting with old friends but make sure to have a slice of cake or two with you while reading because talk of cake in the story will surely have you craving some.
The pop-up cake shop started as a way of avoiding fresh cake being wasted and it’s just taken off. Some emotional themes here as well, all realistic, an emotional pregnancy, the breakup of a long-term relationship and the possibility of a new one starting after some time has passed. Sweet, emotional and heartwarming. What’s not to love?

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

MY THOUGHTS

Once I read my first Julie Houston book, I knew I must read all subsequent books, of which this was no exception. If you want to get lost in a book that is heartwarming with realistic characters, who are not a lot of fluff and nonsense this is the author for you. The characters are relatable, sharing experiences you’re now experiencing or already have. A real pick me upper that’ll have you not wanting to put it down at bedtime, sleep, what’s that. Warm, witty, and an author that you’ll want to keep coming back to.

Blog Tour for Sunshine After the Rain

ABOUT THE BOOK

Sunshine After the Rain

Melanie knows she’s been running away…

For the last seven years Mel has been hiding; from life, from her friends and from those who love her the most – her family. But being at home in her beloved Lake District has been far too painful for Mel to contemplate. Because seven years ago, Mel lost everything and she’s never been able to banish the dark clouds that follow her.

But maybe there really is no place like home?

When Mel returns to Willowdale for a family event, she has no intention of staying. But surrounded by her family she begins to realise just how much she’s been missing and also, how much healing she still needs to do.

Starting a dream job at Willowdale Hall, going on walks with Emma and her funny alpacas and reconnecting with those she loves, Mel slowly begins to see chinks of light and a more hopeful and happier future ahead.

And as Mel begins to feel stronger, she also feels brave enough to face the most painful part of leaving home…the one man she has always loved. With his help, can she finally banish the dark clouds forever and see the sunshine after the rain?

MY THOUGHTS

Sunshine After the Rain is the absolute perfect title for this one. A book I could really get into. I’ve found all of the author’s books to be heartfelt and heartwarming at the same time. If possible, this one even more so. A book I simply could not put down. Dealing with subjects we can all relate to I felt as though the book was talking to me. The characters are ones I agreed with and could also feel empathy for. Though there are sad parts the book has a lovely and happy ending. Themes of second chances, refound romance and just overall good feelings I can highly recommend this book.

Blog Tour for Love Blooms at Hollyhock farms

ABOUT THE BOOK

Love Blooms at Hollyhock Farm

After an amazing year looking after Hollyhock Farm, on the beautiful island of Jersey, pregnant Lettie needs to step back from farming. The problem is, with her family overseas, there’s no one to take over.

But then help comes from two places at once. Handsome fire-fighter Joe needs to escape his small home since his mother and her new husband came to stay; he offers to help run the farm in exchange for board in one of the spare rooms. Then, adventurous newcomer Skye takes the other room, excited to try her hand at farming in such an amazing place.

But managing the farm together may be more than either of them bargained for, especially as each of them drives the other crazy, in more ways than one. Will the tension get too much for Joe and Skye, or could love bloom with the Jersey flowers this spring?

MY THOUGHTS

If you’re looking for a feel-good heartwarming series, you need to look no further than the Hollyhock Farm series.
I’ve read all of the books in this series and other books by the author, and they never fail to make me smile and are the perfect relaxation read.
Taking place on the island of Jersey, the descriptions have me ready to visit and just kick off my shoes.
Once again, we see the inclusion of characters from other books in this series, and this always enriches the story.
This is Skye and Joe’s story, they’ve both ended up at Hollyhock Farm for a different reason and their first meeting wasn’t the greatest, but this doesn’t last once they start to get to know each other.
Skye has always had a supportive granny in her life after her mother passed away when she was a young teen, but she needs some answers about an important issue she’s been dwelling on.
I enjoyed seeing how supportive Joe is in her quest for answers and also enjoyed seeing the fun and supportive interaction between the other characters. I’m always up for reading a wonderful book by the author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

TLC tour for THE VOICE WE FIND by Nicole Deese!

About The Voice We Find

• Publisher: Bethany House Publishers (April 15, 2025)
• Paperback: 416 pages

Two voices. One story. A chance to rewrite their future.

Sophie Wilder returns home to California with nothing more than a failed Broadway career and a geriatric cat. Stuck working at the family winery with her egotistical brother and desperate for a way to revive her acting dreams, she takes a side gig as an audiobook narrator with Fog Harbor Books. But getting mixed up in the life of her reluctant sound engineer was never a part of her plans.

August Tate is still reeling from taking on guardianship of his teen sister. Determined to find a solution to her degenerative hearing loss and to prevent his private recording studio from going under, he agrees to produce audiobooks part-time. When Sophie breathes new life into his creativity and forms an unexpected bond with his sister rooted in their common faith, he must confront the reasons he turned away from his own or risk losing the second chance he’s only just started to believe in.

The Voice We Find is the third book in Nicole Deese’s Fog Harbor Romance Series for fans of clean, faith-based stories, deaf and hard of hearing representation, workplace romance, books about books, found family, and sibling bonds.

MY THOUGHTS

Just like when you read any of the author’s other books you know you’ll be in for an emotional roller coaster.
I liked that the book had ASL and deaf representation. This is a closed-door romance.
The book really had me experiencing a wide range of emotions. I was rooting for the ones who seemed to not be represented but fell into the background. Full of hope on every page these characters have found their voice and their strength by books end.
Every book I read by the author has me contemplating what the outcome will be. Hard hitting this is one you’ll not be able to put down until you’re done.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

About the author

Nicole Deese is a Christy and Carol Award-winning and bestselling author. When she’s not sorting out character arcs and story plots of her own, she can usually be found listening to an audiobook and multitasking at least four different chores at once. She’s a hoarder of sparkling water, a lover of long walks and even longer talks with friends, and a seeker of fun and adventure at all times. She lives in small-town Idaho with her happily-ever-after hubby, two freakishly tall teenage sons, and one princess daughter with the heart of a warrior.

His Unforgettable Bride (Bride Ships: New Voyages Book 4)

315 pages Publication date March 25, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

A pickpocket turned lady and a prince with a forgotten past find love in the most unexpected place…

Juliet Dash, orphan and former pickpocket, yearns to leave her troubled past behind. So when she arrives in British Columbia and takes a respectable job working for a pair of society sisters who offer to give her etiquette lessons, she’s one step closer to that dream. But when an unexpected encounter with an unconscious man turns her world upside down, Juliet must choose between her heart and her aspirations.

Weary of the pressure of royal life, Prince Henry Graighton longs for solace and anonymity. But when tragedy strikes and his brother winds up dead, Henry finds himself thrust into the role of heir apparent, leaving him to struggle with the weight of his grief and unwanted responsibility. And when Henry is kidnapped, he narrowly escapes with his life…but loses his memories in the process. In his darkest hour, a beacon of hope emerges in the form of Juliet, his savior and the key to unlocking his forgotten past.

With danger lurking at every turn and the weight of Henry’s royal duties looming over them, can their budding romance withstand the trials that lie ahead, or will Juliet be forced to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of Henry’s kingdom?

MY THOUGHTS

I loved the Bride Ships: New Voyages series. This is the fourth and final book in it. Each book features a different woman who has sailed on a journey to a new start leaving bad memories behind.

It’s always fun to meet up with characters from previous books in a current read and see how things have progressed for them.
Full of surprising twists and turns this is a faith filled Christian fiction series that kept me reading late into the night.

I was so happy to see our young couple get their magical fairytale like ending. I enjoyed seeing our characters grow and mature as life lessons were learned and accepted.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

Land of Dreams (Home to Green Creek Book #1): (A Frontier Historical Fiction with Drama, Love and Faith)

343 pages Bethany House Publishers April 1, 2025 publication date

ABOUT THE BOOK

During her voyage on a ship to America, Norwegian immigrant Amalia Gunderson makes a solemn promise to a dying mother to watch over her five-year-old daughter, Ruth. Together, Amalia and Ruth trek to Iowa to claim the farm and former boardinghouse that Ruth has inherited, despite opposition from a difficult cousin. Struggling with an empty house and scarce resources, Amalia resolves to return the boardinghouse to its former purpose, aided by the kindness of strangers and the resilient spirit of her young charge.

As Amalia and Ruth endeavor to make ends meet, tensions rise due to a trail of orphans showing up on their doorstep. Meanwhile, Absalom Karlsson–the magistrate’s son–offers legal assistance and helps them advocate for justice. With each challenge they face, Amalia and Ruth find hope in believing that with faith and determination they can overcome even the most daunting of trials.

In this heartwarming series starter, bestselling author Lauraine Snelling weaves together a delightful story of new beginnings.

MY THOUGHTS

I am always so excited to read a book by one of my favorite Christian fiction authors. I know some years ago I read a series by the author with Norwegian characters and the Norwegian culture and enjoyed it very much this has the same in it.

I read it awhile ago so I can’t remember if any of the characters from that series are in this book or not.
Making a new start is not easy but when the unexpected happens it’s doubly hard.

On a ship bound for America Norwegian immigrant, Amalia Gunderson becomes the guardian of a young girl who lost her mother on the voyage.
She and five year old, Ruth find themselves in a strange and new land with a house, Ruth will inherit when she is of age but it is not empty.

Despite being pushed and pulled in a lot of directions with opposition to what she is doing and some bad advice Amalia show her strength and perseverance. Doing what is right in this new land by taking care of the child and honoring God is her mission and though struggles are ever present she will not give up on herself or God.

With a boarding house being run there are other orphans that show up and through hard work and sacrifices all work towards a common good.
The author has a way of writing realistic fiction that I feel as though I am there experiencing it as well.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House through Interviews & Reviews and NetGalley for my honest opinion.

MEET THE AUTHOR

Award-winning and best selling author Lauraine Snelling began living her dream to be a writer with her first published book for young adult readers, Tragedy on the Toutle, in 1982. She has since continued writing more horse books for young girls, adding historical and contemporary fiction and nonfiction for adults and young readers to her repertoire. All told, she has over eighty books published with more than 4 million copies in print.

Shown in her contemporary romances and women’s fiction, a hallmark of Lauraine’s style is writing about real issues of forgiveness, loss, domestic violence, and cancer within a compelling story. Her work has been translated into Norwegian, Danish, and German, and she has won the Romantic Times Career Achievement award for Inspirational Fiction, the Silver Angel Award for An Untamed Land and a Romance Writers of America Golden Heart for Song of Laughter.

As a sought after speaker, Lauraine encourages others to find their gifts and live their lives with humor and joy. Her readers clamor for more books more often, and Lauraine would like to comply … if only her paintbrushes and easel didn’t call quite so loudly.

Lauraine and her husband, Wayne, have two grown sons, and live in the Tehachapi Mountains with a watchdog Basset named Winston. They love to travel, most especially in their forty-foot motor coach, which they affectionately deem “a work in progress”.

MY THOUGHTS

I’m sorry to see this series has come to an end. I mean a series with a focal point of a sweet shop, there’s something just magical about that. I think we all love to visit a sweet shop and the series has been so much fun. I’ve loved getting to know Holly. She’s gone through some ups and downs but she’s resilient and lands on her feet. She’s had the help of her friends to get her through her rough patches for sure and she also has a lovely daughter Hope that we met a few books back. Once again she’s hit a rough patch in this book and it’s not even due to her sweet shop. Her personal life has taken a surprise turn and left her feeling surprised and in shambles.
Best friends are great to have, they’re there for you and make you hold your chin up when times are rough. What if your best friend throws a curve ball in the mix like Giles does with Holly and proposes to someone else just when you are admitting to yourself that your interest may have gone past the friend zone?
Will Holly have a chance to convince Giles to take a chance on her or is it too late for a second chance for them?
I highly recommend starting at the beginning of the series and just binge reading the whole series, no regrets it’s just that great. This is a feel good, unputdownable series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this series.
All opinions expressed are my own.

An Amish Widow’s Promise (Sweetbrier Creek) #2

308 pages Publisher Forever Publication date April 29, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

One Amish man helps to revive a young widow’s struggling orchard—and heal her heart—in this light, warmhearted Amish romance perfect for fans of Jo Ann Brown and Jocelyn McClay.

Widow Miriam Esh has to find a fiancé, or her overbearing bruder-in-law will sell her familye apple orchard. He’s already taken it upon himself to hire someone—likely another man presuming he knows what’s best for her land. But if she’s going to save it, Miriam must focus on finding a suitable husband, not on the new orchardist or on how good he is with her son, and definitely not on how his smile scatters her thoughts . . .

By the looks of things at the Esh estate, Daniel Beiler knows Miriam could use a hand. Only the stubborn widow doesn’t want to take any of his advice. Yet as they spend their days working side-by-side and sharing warm meals, Daniel and Miriam can’t deny the growing comfort in each other’s company. So when Miriam begins receiving attention from eligible men seeking a wife, Daniel must admit his feelings for her before it’s too late. With the promise that he’ll be the partner she can trust, can Daniel convince Miriam that he should also be the mann in her life?

BOOK 1 IN THE SERIES

MY THOUGHTS

Young Amish widow, Miriam Esh is being forced to find a suitable husband in a certain time period or her family’s beloved orchard will be sold with her having no say by her brother-in-law. Miriam has already been betrayed by the men in her family and doesn’t trust any of them now and certainly doesn’t want a husband. All she wants is to raise her son and have the orchard stay in her family until he’s old enough to run it.

Miriam wants to run things on the orchard her way on her own time frame but when Daniel Beiler is hired, she doesn’t want to take any of his advice. Daniel knows a thing or two about orchards, even Miriam who doesn’t want to admit it agrees.

As her son becomes comfortable around Daniel so does Miriam but then she once again feels betrayed by something. Daniel only wants the best for the orchard, but will Miriam see this in time or will secrecy by omission keep this couple apart. It was interesting reading about the daily running of the orchard.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

MEET THE AUTHOR

Winnie Griggs grew up in south Louisiana in an undeveloped area her schoolmates considered the very back of beyond. With her two younger siblings and another family of three siblings for playmates, she spent many an hour exploring the overgrown land around her home, cutting jungle trails, building forts and frontier camps, and looking for pirate ships on the nearby bayou.

Once she ‘grew up’ she found other outlets for dealing with all those wonderful, adventurous, imaginary friends by filling notebooks with their stories. And somewhere along the way, those scribblings gave way to full length books.

Eventually she found her own Prince Charming, a rancher whose white steed takes the form of a tractor and whose kingdom is situated in a small rural community that she loves to call home, and together they’ve built their own storybook happily-ever-after. Their lives together expanded to include four now grown children who share Winnie’s vivid imagination and her husband’s steadier influences and are now out in the world pursuing their own adventures.

The Protector: A Mifflin County Mystery (1) (Mifflin County Mysteries)

320 pages Barbour Fiction publisher August 1, 2024 publication date

ABOUT THE BOOK

n book one of A Mifflin County Mystery series, after a night out with her boyfriend, Rosa Petersheim has disappeared from the Big Valley without a trace. Norman Petersheim always considered himself his sister’s protector, and he can’t believe she would have left home of her own accord. Clearly, he must have failed her. He throws all he has into helping the authorities search for Rosa, while trying to support his parents and siblings–who are struggling both mentally and physically. Salina Swarey loves Norman and hopes they are headed toward marriage, but his obsession with Rosa’s whereabouts is driving them apart. Can Norman find peace and contentment, even if he never learns where Rosa has gone?

MY THOUGHTS

I really enjoyed reading this, the first book of three in the Mifflin County mystery series.
The Petersheim family is devastated, their daughter, Rosa has disappeared on her way home from a young people’s event.

Her oldest brother feels responsible and it’s affecting her whole family, even leading to her mother’s failing health. They all just want to see her walk through the family home’s door again.

The Amish community can’t understand what has happened to this young Amish woman and the police don’t really seem to be taking much an interest in solving this case.

Feeling guilty. older brother Norman Petersheim spends so much time trying to solve the case that his girlfriend doesn’t feel appreciated. Will this young love have a chance or will his unwillingness to understand her needs drive them apart completely.

Love the realistic situations of the characters and their character development.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

MEET THE AUTHOR

Wanda Brunstetter is an award-winning romance novelist who has led millions of readers to lose their heart in the Amish life. She is the author of over 100 books with more than 12 million copies sold. Many of her books have landed on the top bestseller lists, including the New York Times, USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, CBA, ECPA, and CBD. Wanda is considered one of the founders of the Amish fiction genre, and her work has been covered by national publications, including Time Magazine and USA Today.

Wanda’s fascination with the Amish culture developed when she met her husband, Richard, who grew up in a Mennonite church, and whose family has a Pennsylvania Dutch heritage. Meeting her new Mennonite sister-in-laws caused Wanda to yearn for the simpler life. In their travels, she and her husband have become close friends with many Amish people across America. Wanda’s desire to explore their culture increased when she discovered that her great-great grandparents were part of the Anabaptist faith.

All of Wanda’s novels are based on personal research intended to accurately portray the Amish way of life. Many of her books are well-read and trusted by the Amish, who credit her for giving readers a deeper understanding of the people and their customs.

Wanda’s primary attraction to the Amish is their desire to live a devout Christian life that strives to honor God, work hard, and maintain close family ties. Whenever she visits her Amish friends, Wanda finds herself drawn to their peaceful lifestyle, sincerity, and close family ties, which is in stark contrast to the chaos and busyness that plagues so many modern “Englishers.” Time and time again, Wanda loses her heart in the Amish life, and she hopes her readers will, too.
