Blog Tour for Winter Wishes at Roseford Reloved by Fay Keenan

ABOUT THE BOOK

Winter Wishes at Roseford Reloved

When the ceiling of preloved clothing shop Roseford Reloved falls in at the height of Christmas season, owner Polly Parrott is in despair. She can see her fortunes draining away as quickly as the water is pouring through her roof. What makes it worse is that standing right underneath the deluge is Will Sutherland, sporting hero and new owner of Parson’s Grange, the new modern mansion in Roseford.

Polly and Will’s first meeting is about as far from a success as it can be, but over a festive season of Christmas markets, a Yuletide Ball and inconvenient snowfalls, can they forge a friendship or even more, despite their unpromising beginning? Or will the complications in both of their lives end their romance before it even begins?

MY THOUGHTS

I have read the rest of the books in the Roseford series, and they are a pure delight. I am familiar with these characters and it’s like a homecoming to read about them in the additional books in the series.

A pure escapist read, perfect for getting lost in for the afternoon with your cat and cup of tea at your side. Hoping and praying won’t prevent the ceiling from collapsing at Roseford Reloved a used clothing boutique owned by Polly Parrott. With finances low she is afraid she’ll be sued when the ceiling falls on the head of Will Sutherland. He is new in town and the owner of a fabulous mansion in town. Beyond humiliated, she is more than surprised when the upcoming festive holiday season finds them together in a friendly manner. He has two daughters with his ex-wife, and they add to the family dynamics. One accepts her and one not so much, at first. It’s always hard to accept a parent moving on to another relationship. A heartwarming story, I enjoyed the beautiful setting and read the book all in one sitting. The story is so charming, I look forward to being back in Roseford again. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Happy Publication Day and the Blog tour for Christmas Nights at the Star and Lantern by Helen Rolfe

I’m always drawn to Christmas covers and this is no exception. It’s so pretty!

A wonderful story of love, friendship and opening your mind and your heart to new possibilities that will enchant fans of Holly Martin and Heidi Swain.

The Copper Plough is at the heart of village life for the residents of Heritage Cove, and never more so than at Christmas, when the tree glows in the alcove and the smell of mulled wine carries out onto the street. So when new owners for the beloved pub arrive and decide to shake things up, not everyone welcomes the changes with open arms.

Local bakery owner Celeste is ready to keep an open mind. But she’s shocked to discover that one of the new landlords is Quinn, a former Navy sailor with whom she had a short but powerful romance years earlier.

Fate may have brought Quinn and Celeste back together, but life seems determined to keep them apart. Can the villagers learn to embrace the newcomers this Christmas? And will Quinn and Celeste find a way back to each other before snow falls over Heritage Cove?

I love the author’s writing style and I’ve read many of her books.

The characters feel realistic as though you’d want to stop in and have a lovely chat with them and snag a sweet or two at the bakery. I got hungry as I was reading.

The characters are so likable. from Barney (everyone knows and loves him) to Quinn (Celeste’s love interest).

I enjoyed seeing how compassionately the author writes about Quinn, he is a former Naval man and has PTSD from all he has experienced while serving. The author’s descriptions of his night terrors are so well done. It’s so heartwarming to see the characters so supportive of each other in all ways possible.

Bakery owner Celeste and Quinn had a short fling years ago. When the local pub is sold all the regulars are hoping the new owners will continue on in the same fashion as it was run before including the star attraction, a beautiful Christmas tree for the holidays.

New circumstances always mean changes though. When Celeste finds out her old flame is the one that has returned and bought the pub, she tries to stay away but Christmas magic comes a calling.

Very Christmassy and such a positive and encouraging read. I really loved it!

Blog Tour for The Gingerbread Christmas Village by Kiley Dunbar

Have you started reading Christmas books for the season yet? Well, I am delighted to invite you onto my blog today to tell you about The Gingerbread Christmas Village. It’s such a warm and uplifting seasonal book.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Gingerbread Christmas Village

Everyone deserves a Christmas treat…

The annual Wheaton gingerbread exhibit (a model village made of gingerbread) and grotto has been an important part of the sleepy Cotswold hamlet’s Christmas celebrations for decades.

For years the gingerbread exhibition drew visitors from across the region and each year the model town grew more elaborate and ambitious but recently, interest has been dwindling. The gingerbread grotto needs to be rehomed or close forever.

Sixty-four-year-old Margi, the event’s founder, has had enough of village life (and its total lack of eligible men) and is planning to sell up and head to Birmingham to live closer to her niece.

She has lost her spark and her Christmas spirit and decides this will be her last gingerbread village, but despairs when she finds her only support is her old friend, Izzy, her niece Lucy from Birmingham, and Fern, the shy young farmer’s daughter. Oh, and Patrick, the gorgeous, reliable school caretaker.

As if this wasn’t enough, Lucy is determined to get her out dating again and persuades her to try some online dating apps but Margi’s had her heart broken too many times and wonders if she has just missed her chance.

Can they save the Gingerbread Grotto and can Margi get her old spark and her Christmas spirit back?

A cosy, totally feelgood seasonal read that will have you smiling. The perfect read to snuggle up and have you feeling festive! Fans of Jenny Colgan and Trisha Ashley will love this book.

MY THOUGHTS

Every year I look forward to starting to read Christmas books and after reading several books by this author that I loved so much I knew this one would be a delight.
I mean just seeing the word gingerbread in the title you envision Christmassy goodness.
I was delighted to discover this book features a sixty-something heroine.

I just loved Margi, she’s had her knocks, and she starts out with her spunk lost. She’s a middle-aged lady she’s had good and bad in life including a humiliation and none of us likes that.

She’s a relatable character, she worries, and has her insecurities but she sees the positive and works towards it. She needs a confidence booster and gets it in a big way.
The author does descriptions right, her small-town Christmas time feel was just right. While Margi may have lost her spunk when we start out, she’s got that sparkle back in her eyes by books end.

Warm and welcoming this book will be a welcome addition to your holiday reading.

Blog Tour for The Lottery Win, Little Duck Pond Cafe by Rosie Green

About The Book

Krystle has always yearned to live a different kind of life, so when she hits the jackpot, quite literally, she’s over the moon. At last she’ll get the chance to live in a gorgeous house, drive the car of her dreams and maybe even track down that elusive soulmate at last! It all sounds perfect – but can reality ever live up to your dreams?

My Thoughts

The Lottery Win by Rosie Green is number 28 in the Little Duck Pond Cafe series.
This one focuses on twins Krystle and Carrie but mostly Krystle. The book is short, a novella length one. This doesn’t affect the story though as there’s quite a fun story packed into fewer pages.
The sisters have made a pact with each other to share their lottery winnings with each other if they would win it one day and never thinking they actually would. After Carrie wins, she splits it with twin Krystle. Now Krystle is having financial difficulties and this win is just what she needs to straighten things out, or is it? In some ways the win is just what she needs but she’s not good with money and hurriedly buys frivolous things. When others know you have money you also attract unscrupulous people. I could feel Krystale’s many emotions from her despair at owing so much money to her fear when the money loaner comes after her, the bewilderment when a possible romantic connection is not who they seem to be and her joy when things are finally looking up. Money doesn’t buy happiness; real relationships is where the happiness is. This little book packs a punch and I’ll be looking forward to more in this series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.
