ABOUT THE BOOK
Unwrap this gorgeous gift of a book for an escape to the snow-peaked caps of the Scottish Highlands and a romance that will melt your heartβ¦
Izzy McBride had never in a million years expected to inherit an actual castle from her great uncle Bill but here she was, in the run up to Christmas, Monarch of her own Glen β a very rundown glen in need of a lot of TLC if her dream of turning it into a boutique bed and breakfast was to come true.
But when Izzyβs eccentric mother rents a room to enigmatic thriller author Ross Adair and the Scottish snow starts to settle like the frosting on a Christmas cake, itβs a race to get the castle ready before theyβre all snowed in for the holidays.

October seems to be the month for a lot of Christmas books releasing and though I didn’t get a chance to read this when it released, I am so glad I got a chance to read it now. I also have the next book in the series and look forward to it as well.
You’re going to love your holiday trip to the Scottish Highlands through this book. A fun romantic holiday read it hits all the feels you need.
An inheritance of a castle in Scotland is nothing to sneeze at and Izzy McBride would never have thought it would happen to her.
Running it with her over the top mother can be a bit overwhelming, she does have others helping het to run it though she gets that help in a way she wasn’t expecting.
Though the flakes are flying outside things are heating up in the castle with thriller author Ross Adair as one of her guests.
Loved reading the descriptions of the castle and gardens. The Scottish foods and descriptions of ingredients made me hungry.
Lobed the two mothers and their plotting and planning, how much fun.
Shall I pack my bags now? I’m ready for a visit to the castle.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Lovely review, Deanne. I am descended from Clan McLean of Scotland, and my paternal grandmother was a Robertson, so I have 2 clan tartans to choose from. I would love to go there!ππ

Wow, how fascinating. Have you done any research on your family history? I’ll bet you would find some interesting information.

A cousin has just finished the Robertson family tree, I have the McLean family tree, but it needs updating and another cousin has done the MacKay family tree (another tartan – my maternal grandmother). It is only my maternal grandfather’s family tree that I don’t have. I have started working on it, but am making slow progress. ππ

I wish you lots of luck doing your family tree. We had one done several years ago on my husband’s side and it’s fascinating to learn about the ancestors. Especially nice to get the children involved and to give them information about their greats many generations back.

It was my grandson asking questions that got me started on it, Deanne. ππ

Great review, I have heard great things about this series, Deanne. I wish some of them were on audio though. I’m like Sandy. I am a descendent of the MacMillan clan and Fraser Clan. My grandmother was a Hewitt, but I don’t know what clan that was part of. I went to Scotland with my daughter about 6 years ago and want to go back.

Thank you, Carla. This is another series I haven’t kept up with but have loved the ones I’ve read. Several years ago, my husband’s side of the family was done on an ancestry thing, and my children were so fascinated to learn about their ancestors, Now I need to do one for my side. Both of our sides are from Ireland so going there would be a dream come true. It’s wonderful you and your daughter were able to visit Scotland and I’m sure with the family information you have it’ll make the trip even more interesting with the connection you have. Hope you’re able to get that trip in soon.

Those castles are absolutely amazing. Can’t for the life of me figure out how they did those without cranes. We did get to Scotland years ago–but didn’t much care for Edinburgh but the countryside is breath taking.

I’ve never been to a real life castle but I know it would be an amazing trip. I can imagine that you have a lot of great memories of that trip. Right, some of the ancient masterpieces defy explanation.

we do–it was a choir trip–our third with that particular choir. we saw fewer cathedrals that trip but some of the most memorable moments were the time spent with the locals–not just the singing.
