MY THOUGHTS

After just reading the first book in this new series by an author I enjoy reading very much I was more than eager to dig into Finding Friends at the Cornish Country Hospital and get an update on the characters’ lives. Though this is a series it can be read as a standalone, but why would you do that when both books are so much fun.

The first book has Danni’s story and now we have Esther’s story. Esther was going out with Lucas, Danni’s ex but the jerk cheated on her. There is so much going on in this book, so many side stories that I am hoping to see a continuation of one that will develop into out next book in the series. There is also Caroline, Esther’s mom.

They say retirement can be really rough on a couple not used to being around each other all day long. As Caroline tries to engage her husband in activities to spend time together and have a closer bond, he seems to be pulling the opposite way, away from her. It was very realistic seeing Caroline and her husband’s story as often times happens with long married couples. They both has misconceptions about how the other feels and secrets are so damaging in relationships.

Danni’s brother Joe is in town from Australia and working in the same hospital. Things seem to be a great match with Esther but how could things possibly take a romantic turn when he will be here for such a limited time?

Once again, I enjoyed the realistic hospital setting and meeting the patients. There is a bit of a charged atmosphere with the hospital staff dealing with mental illness, as kindness is thought to be so much more. It had me feeling creeped out a bit.

The author does such a great job of drawing the reader into the character’s lives and having you right there with them. Such a strong story line, it kept my attention and had me eagerly reading it. I am hopeful there will be more in this series because I am not ready to let these characters go quite yet.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Morning, you have written a lively piece. Friends may found anywhere sometimes even under a rock. I used to find and I have found that you can talk to people the best kind of people in the pet food aisle at Walmart. Two years ago I found a friend in the parking lot at Walmart. when her roof fell in well part of her kitchen roof fell in I should say I rescued her cats her word and turtle. thinking she cared as much before animal society well hello baby kitten baby can just came up on my lap. She(Penny) lost her home because she had no furnace for 2 years her pipes froze her toilet cracked and she was living in a motel. I placed a turtle with the animal wild animal rescue place outside of Independence Iowa. In the United States now it’s illegal to have box turtles. Which is insane the Box turtle was thirty-seven years old box turtle, thrived with Penny. I was still under the assumption that Penny loved her animals and would just leave them with a friend. 2 years later almost going on two years later I still have her cats and a bird, the tomcat never was fixed so I’ve had all together 10 litters of kittens. She(Penny) had big plans how we could find kittens homes. Nothing ever came of it of them. that is what I have twenty new kittens. for two days this month I had no heat so it was 26 in my home and now I have sick kittens and cats. and this one she has supplied one bag the sixteen lb cat food and twenty lb of litter. and no time did I have enough Kitty boxes so my carpet is trashed. Her oldest cats taught my cat that cat said it’s okay to scratch my walls. I sell books it’s impossible to sell books when you can’t afford to buy more books because your product line is dah books! I will always rescue cats I have always heard you cats for 66 years. I’m done trying to rescue people humanity who tell everybody that they’ve raised and fostered cats all their lives.I found that the reason her daughter stopped talking to her was because her daughter did all the cat things she took credit for. Penny’s disabled child raised the cats,Penny worked all the time never took vacations and never took time off not even for her eighty year old mother. In this time that I’ve had her cats she’s never asked how they are! Only wants to did she come to see them. Penny still lives in a motel in Oelwein, Iowa. pain three hundred and seventy a week never finding apartment renting a home. or going to low rent housing she prefers living in a crappy ass old motel room it’s a dog and a kennel. I’m an empath I love talking to strangers study psychology I will never do something for a human again like I did for her I will always take an animal. and it’s sixty-six II have stopped looking at looking for friends. I love talking to Young writers like you all.

I hope you enjoy both of the books in this series. It’s a fun pick me up series with some serious bits as well. Don’t you hate getting in a reading slump? Hopefully you’ll find some goodies and be able to pop out of it soon.
