The Sugar Plum Rebellion: An Enemies to Lovers Nutcracker Christmas Romance

288 pages Publication date December 3, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

Clara Winters has one rule: never let anyone see the ADHD-fueled chaos underneath her ballet perfection.

As the adopted daughter of a ballet legend, sheโ€™s spent her entire life proving she belongs by forcing her neurodivergent brain into the Porcelain Princess mold everyone expects. This Christmas Eve Nutcracker is her final audition. One flawless Sugar Plum Fairy performance will land her a prestigious contract and prove she deserves her legacy.

Then, her dance partner snaps his ankle. His only replacement? Trevor Williams, a tattooed, recovering addict from the county arts program next door.

Their partnership should fail. But between heated arguments and hotter stolen glances, their forced proximity turns into late-night rehearsals and vulnerable confessions. Trevor sees the scattered, brilliant woman she’s been hiding. Clara reawakens the joy he shut down to stay sober.

Now, with the curtain about to rise on Christmas Eve, Clara must decide: perform the flawless lie that will secure her future, or risk everything for the messy, beautiful truth she found hiding beneath the porcelain.

The Sugar Plum Rebellion is a witty & heartwarming Christmas dance romance with a touch of angst and a happily ever after. Take the explosive banter of The Hating Game with the dance floor chemistry of Step Up, all wrapped up in a cozy, festive bow. This is an open-door romance with medium heat and tons of simmering tension.

MY THOUGHTS

I would have never known this was a debut author. I enjoyed the subject matter and the characters.
In this enemies to lover’s book Trevor is absolutely my favorite character.
Clara is the daughter of a famous renowned dancer, and she’s been dancing a long time.
She feels the pressure to measure up, to achieve perfection and dance despite an injury to her foot.
Trevor gets mad at her when he sees her pushing herself despite her injury, but he only has her best interest at heart. There were some pretty deep conversations that you may not expect just by looking at the books cover. Trevor is a recovered addict, and his love language is trying to keep her safe, so she won’t follow the same road he has.
I enjoyed the author’s writing style and will look for more in the future she writes.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

MEET THE AUTHOR

I write messy people and messier kisses.

The Sugar Plum Rebellion is my debut contemporary Christmas romance featuring a perfectionist ballerina, a tattooed dancer in recovery, and one very chaotic Nutcracker rehearsal. Expect found family, second chances, and guaranteed happily ever afters.

Hope you’ve enjoyed a pleasant day.

MY THOUGHTS

I’m loving seeing this series continue, we’re on book 43 now.
At this point the characters all feel like family, and I love meeting the new ones we’re introduced to in each book too.
Festive, warm, wonderful Christmas story.
Katja, unusual name and I love it and her newish boyfriend, Caleb are spending their first Christmas together.
I loved Katja’s character and related to her right away. Couldn’t quite figure out what Caleb’s deal was at first. Katja tried so hard, she really did, but things just seemed off to her after a bit, not what she wanted at all especially during the holiday season.
The author throws a bit of mystery into the story, and I absolutely loved how it evolved, it really had me fooled.
Things aren’t always how they seem to be and this story proved it. The more I read it the more I loved it.
Eagerly looking forward to the next book by the author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

The Amish Nanny’s Secret: An Uplifting Inspirational Romanceย

208 pages Love Inspired paperback Publication date September 30, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

Will a temporary arrangement
turn into the love she needs?

Naomi Ebersol has always felt like the black sheep of her Amish community, and even more so now that sheโ€™s been accepted into art school. Itโ€™ll be difficult leaving Millers Creek behind, but she longs to follow her heart. To pay for her tuition, she agrees to be a nanny for widower Josias Schrock, who needs help caring for his five energetic little boys. Only now, everyone in their community thinks theyโ€™re engaged! Being around his family starts to feel all too real. But how can Naomi choose between the dream sheโ€™s always wantedโ€ฆand the promise of love?

From Love Inspired: Uplifting stories of faith, forgiveness and hope.

MY THOUGHTS

The Amish Nanny’s Secret is delightful, the author has woven secrets, love and healing through every page.
Naomi Ebersol has kept a secret from not only her Amish community, but her family and she’s been working on making it come true for several years.
Now she just needs a way to make the money to have it come true as the last step.
Widower Josias Schrock may be just the help she’s been praying for as she decides to become a nanny to his five sons and that should help finance her dream.
I had a large family myself and could so relate to the absolute chaos at times you have with children specially a lot of small ones close in age.
He’s lost his wife and baby and just wants a nanny for his boys; she’s looking to earn money for the summer.
There’s no telling where the heart will lead though.
A beautiful story brought to life by the author’s charming words, I absolutely loved it. Through prayer and reflection healing happens with decisions made.
Looking forward to more by the author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

Winter Whimsy at Golden Sands Bayย

272 pages Publication date May 19, 2023 Boldwood publishers

ABOUT THE BOOK

When Lexi Davies discovers that her father has sold the fishermenโ€™s cottages that she lives in and runs as holiday lets, she is furious and heartbroken. Lexi realises that her whole future at her beloved cottages is now over.
New owner, handsome, Scottish entrepreneur Oliver Whimsy arrives on the island in a blaze of glory and immediately upsets the locals.
When he offers Lexi her old job, sheโ€™s unsure whether to accept but needing a roof over her head for the winter, she finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Pride does not pay the bills.
As they get to know one another, thereโ€™s far more to Oliver Whimsy than she or anyone else had imagined.
What heartache is Oliver trying so desperately to hide from?
And why was he so determined to buy the cottages?
Lexi is on a mission to find outโ€ฆ

MY THOUGHTS

So charming, what is not to love when you live in a brilliant cottage on the boardwalk overlooking the breathtaking sea. Going out your front door, the sea spray cools you and the view is amongst the best you’ve ever seen.
Lexi Davies seems to be living the charmed life, living on the boardwalk in a cottage and renting out the other two is the perfect supplemental income for her. It’s also the last link to her mother she has left as they were owned by her mother and passed onto to her.
When she finds out her father has sold them out from under her, she is more than devastated.
Sold to a Scotsman, Oliver has his reasons for buying them and it’s actually a pretty good one.
Would it be weird to start to have romantic feelings for him? Would he think it was weird? Would she lose her friendship that is newly started? Ugh, so much to think about, should she try to take that first step?
When something unexpected happens in her family will she embrace the changes, or will it be a hinderance to all she has accomplished so far?
A heartwarming rom com about the choices you make not only affecting yourself but those closest to you. Warmth, family, choices, personal growth and friendships all blossom in the gorgeous book.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

Finding Family at Seabreeze Farm: A wonderfully uplifting, heartwarming read from Jo Bartlettย

220 pages Boldwood Books December 2,2022 publication date

ABOUT THE BOOK

Welcome to Seabreeze Farm.

Freya Halliwell is looking forward to marrying the man of her dreams and starting their new life together. After the death of both of her parents, Ollie, along with Freyaโ€™s aunt, are the only family she has, but they are all the family she needs.

Until Freya discovers a shocking secret that makes her question everything she thought she knew about her once happy family and especially the man she used to call Dad. Devastated, and feeling more alone than ever before, Freya needs time and space to come to terms with the news. But until then the wedding is off!

Seabreeze Farm is the perfect place for Freya to recover. But could this beautiful farm perched high on the cliffs, also hold the answer to Freyaโ€™s past and reunite her with the family she never even knew sheโ€™d been wishing for?

MY THOUGHTS

This is another book in the Seabreeze Farm series and the whole series is so charming.
You really get drawn into Kelsea Bay and the characters are so realistic .
A total misunderstanding stops a wedding days before it’s to happen.
When shocking secrets are revealed our main character feels like she no longer knows herself or the man she called dad.
Dealing with such news will not be easy but Seabreeze Farm is the perfect place to get away from it all and forget. The setting is beautiful, the rugged coast, the gulls and the farm animals provide just the tonic she needs. A second chance at love. found family and complete holiday warmth.
Warm and fulfilling story.
Looking forward to more by the author.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

The Shop Down the Lane: (A Sweet Contemporary Amish Letter Writing Enemies to Lovers Romance) (Letters from Lancaster County)ย

352 pages Publisher Bethany House Publishers Publication date May 6, 2025

ABOUT THE BOOK

Leslie Gould delights in this sweet and humorous Amish romance reminiscent ofย The Shop Around the Cornerย andย You’ve Got Mail.

Lois Yoder has always found solace in the quiet life of Paradise, Pennsylvania, where she manages a gift shop that reflects her Amish community’s simple values. Her tranquil world is upended when Moses Lantz, a former Amishman turned Mennonite and the man who broke her heart, buys the shop with ambitious plans to transform it into a tourist hub–a move that Lois fiercely opposes.

Seeking a distraction, Lois joins a bird watchers’ circle letter under an alias. But unknown to her, Moses does the same at the urging of a friend. While their correspondence blossoms into a tender romance, the enmity between Lois and Moses in real life only intensifies. Can they overcome their animosity and embrace the love they’ve found through their letters, or will their stubborn hearts keep them apart forever?

MY THOUGHTS

I really, really enjoyed this book.
Aside from the story which really kept my attention I very much enjoyed that it takes place in Pennsylvania, my home state and where I still live.
How fun to see a story including birding circle letter writing. I have a bird app I use almost daily, and it identifies bird calls it hears. It’s so much fun to see new ones on it with the bird migration.
I also have the bird book the author recommended that she used for her research.
A long ago misunderstanding stopped a couple from courting but when they are brought together again can that be put aside so they can at least be nice to each other.
An Amish man and woman get to know each other through their interests in birding, a common interest amongst the Amish. They write letters to each other and the interest becomes more than about just birds but could a secret they’ve each been keeping from each other be detrimental to their relationship?
Very much enjoyed all of the characters and their personalities and how caring and forgiving they are to each other.
The characters are compassionate and helpful towards each other.
I also enjoyed the author talking about planting certain things and helping to create a habitat for the birds. The ending was wonderful and there was a surprise with one of the main characters I enjoyed too. I eagerly look forward to the next book in the series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

332 pages Publisher WaterBrook Publication date May 3, 2022

ABOUT THE BOOK

Working at a little shop on Main Street in a small town is exactly the break that executive Merry Anna Foster needs following her divorce. Sheโ€™s made a bet with her ex-husband that she can live on the amount of money sheโ€™s giving him in alimony. If she can do it, then Kevin will have to stop complaining and leave her alone. But after three months of this new life, will she even want to leave Antler Creek?

Adam Locklear, bull rider and owner of the local feedstore, is having the best year of his rodeo career. Heโ€™s also a bit distracted by the pretty new neighbor living in his old bunkhouse. But Adam has no time for matters of the heart. Heโ€™s got his future all mapped out, and that future doesnโ€™t involve a woman just yet. It doesnโ€™t involve parenting a little girl either. However, Carly Fowler still suddenly leaves five-year-old Zanโ€”the daughter Adam didnโ€™t know he hadโ€”in his care.

Is it possible that the future holds a life even better than what Merry Anna and Adam had each dreamed of? One that includes both tenderness and even loveโ€”not just for each other but for Zan too.

MY THOUGHTS

What Remains True is an emotional read. The author has brought the characters to life with realistic situations. Well plotted, I loved the characters and how true to life they were.
A read that had me questioning what is really important and wanting to reevaluate things. When we take a second look at somethings what may have seemed important no longer is.
Five stars all the way!

Christmas at the Highland Flower Shop: A perfect feel-good, small town heart-warming read!ย

339 pages Publisher Embla Books Publication date September 20, 2022

ABOUT THE BOOK

Four months. One impossible task. It’s time to save Christmas at The Highland Flower Shop…

Bella Reedย has worked at The Highland Flower Shop ever since she left college and now her Aunt Jane has handed the keys and the lease over to her. With the business under her reign, Bella is ready to hit the ground running – until she’s dealt a massive blow.ย They’re being evicted.

When dashing businessmanย Maverick McIntyreย turns up in Fort William, Bella discovers the reason they’re being kicked out. He has no intention of honouring a ridiculous deal his father made many years ago.

As Maverick and Bella lock horns, they both begin to see different sides to one another and before long the two strike up the most unexpected of friendships. Bella knows she has to keep business separate, but when her head and her heart are saying two different things, life starts to get complicated. No matter her feelings, Bella isn’t about to let anyone down and the entire town’s counting on her to save Christmas.

MY THOUGHTS

Bella Reed’s home away from home is at the The Highland Flower Shop as she’s worked at her aunt’s flower shop ever since she’s left college.
When her Aunt Jane hands the keys over to her, she’s ecstatic, what could be more perfect and she’s already dreaming and planning now that she’s in charge.
A terrible miscommunication leaves her being evicted before any of those plans can come to fruition.
Set in a beautiful small town setting the flower shop is a pillar of the community and always so beautifully decorated for Christmas and quite busy.
Maverick McIntyre is quite hardlined and not interested in honoring a deal his father made years ago.
If only while in business meetings Bella didn’t find Maverick quite so handsome and has to remind herself, he’s the enemy.
A typical enemy to lover’s romance with a lovely Christmassy theme that was an enjoyable story.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.

Purchase Link – https://mybook.to/FireworksAtPennycres

MY THOUGHTS

I’ve really been enjoying the Pennycress inn series, this is number three in it.
After stressful years of overexerting herself with more on her plate than she can manage Polly is ready for a change and to do something she feels will improve her life and give her the relaxing change she needs.
Giving up teaching and welcoming a new job at Meadowfield Nature Reserve with a promotion in three months’ time is just the balm she needs.
The Cotswolds are so beautiful, and she knows it’s the new start she needs with all new work mates to welcome her in and befriend her.
But then she sees a familiar face, an ex-colleague who is also new there. To make matters worse the so called promised promotion seems to have been a miscommunication and is up for grabs with her ex-colleague Zac in the running for it as well.
How could it possibly get any more awkward……. but then she realizes they’re both staying at the Pennycress Inn and avoiding each other is really not an option. I love the inn and its familiar characters. They feel like friends already, so warm and welcoming.
This story is filled with tension, the good kind that had me not able to put it down because you just know it’s going to turn out well.
Loved the characters and Polly and Zac’s story and as always look forward to the next in the series.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.
