It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! Hosted at The Book Date.
Merry Christmas to you all. I finished up buying the stocking stuffers on Christmas Eve. I have been doing stocking stuffers for the past 31 years. My oldest is 31 and the youngest is 12 so I do stockings for the 9 that still live at home. It’s a fun time had by all. I was sick for the past several days, but I woke up today feeling mostly better. Thank goodness, no one wants to be sick on Christmas. It’s been such a lovely day with family and the cats. I hope your day has been relaxing and peaceful for you.
Because we all need some absolute cat adorableness. This is Iris, my 9 year old tabby female and newcomer Charlie, 4 month old black and white male kitten. We’ve had him for a month. She has finally accepted him as a friend but still gets annoyed when he pounces on her and play bites her
He’s almost as big as she is. He’s going to be a big boy. She’s spayed and he’s neutered.
A loving dog rescued a tiny stray kitten by coaxing it into following her home during pouring rain.
Monica Burks couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw her dog, Hazel, helping out the squeaking kitten during the heavy downpour.
Monica, 48, peered outdoors after Hazel, 3, did not come back from her “restroom” break and instead kept drawing attention to a faint cry underneath their shed.
Hazel persisted, staying out in the rain until Monica, from Abilene, Texas, was met by a surprise: her dog trotting down the driveway, the squealing kitten in tow.

“Sheba is a feisty loving little thing, she was no bigger than my hand when Hazel found her.
“I want people to know that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on an animal, there are so many dogs and cats that need to be rescued or adopted.
“My daughter and I rescued Hazel and her brother at five weeks because their momma rejected them.
“They have given me so much joy and laughter, I think maybe they rescued me.”
A photo of a young man helping an 83-year-old down an escalator is warming hearts across the country. The elderly man was frozen with fear as he stood atop an escalator at the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke, Mass. That’s when 23-year-old Alonzo Johnson stepped in, locking arms with the senior citizen and helping him down the escalator. The older man was terrified to get on because of a previous frightening experience he once had on an escalator, according to Johnson. #InsideEdition
Have a beautiful day and may your day be full of smiles.
It’s been a day alright. Went to the gym early to get more done today. We went to the gym, Walmart and the feed store to get timothy hay and treats for the guinea pigs. The heat wasn’t working in the car, and we knew something was wrong. Then the car started overheating and we let it cool for an hour and after that we drove it for 5 minutes and it overheated again. With a broken-down car we had to call our son to bring another car to pick us up and get the groceries home. Upon returning home it was house cleaning time and dinner making time. I can finally get online now for some posts. I do hope your day has been better than mine and you’re continuing to smile.
When Bear was still just a puppy, he was hit by a car at a gas station and left for dead. The accident led him to lose both of his eyes, and when his owner saw him at the pet hospital, she just left them there. Luckily, a member of the hospital staff told her daughter about Bear, and she welcomed the pit bull into her home and her heart. Now, he’s the happiest pup ever. To learn more about Bear, find out Why the Story of This Blind Pit Bull Is Melting Hearts Everywhere.
I am so glad this dog got the care and a loving home that he needed.
Thank you for stopping in. Your visit today blesses me.
While bringing joy to others, can these two Christmas helpers also find some for themselves?
Seren’s great aunt Nelly hates being in a care home, especially around Christmas when Seren learns that Nelly and the other residents can’t enjoy the simple pleasure of browsing for gifts in the shops. So what if Seren brings the shops to them?
Converting an ice cream van into a gift shop, Seren travels around Tinstone to help out the less mobile. On her journeys, she keeps bumping into a reluctant – and handsome – Father Christmas, who has been roped into helping out this festive season.
But running her own business comes with risks and surprises that Seren’s not sure she’s able to tackle. Has she bitten off more than she can chew, or will her travelling Christmas shop provide some much-needed festive cheer for the residents of Tinstone?
A delightfully heartwarming and funny festive romance for fans of Rebecca Raisin and Sue Moorcroft.
It’s so much fun getting into Christmas books for this year already. Christmas books are fun and uplifting, well if they are by Lilac Mills they are. Seren’s great Aunt Nelly hates being in a care home, especially because of her limited mobility. The one time Seren and her father took aunt Nelly out shopping with her wheelchair it made for a very long and tiring day for all. While Seren is pondering Nelly’s suggestion of she wants the shopping to come to her there’s the brilliant idea of converting an ice cream truck to a portable Christmas shopping van. It’s not all smooth sailing but when it’s done lots of people are so impressed with the Cosy Travelling Christmas Shop. Throw in the warm, fuzzy holiday season,a little snow and gift wrapped gifts and a fun and unexpected holiday romance. It wouldn’t be the holidays without the latest Christmas read by Lilac Mills which I recommend to you!
Pub Date 01 Sep 2022 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
About The Author
Lilac Mills lives on a Welsh mountain with her very patient husband and incredibly sweet dog, where she grows veggies (if the slugs don’t get them), bakes (badly) and loves making things out of glitter and glue (a mess, usually). She’s been an avid reader ever since she got her hands on a copy of Noddy Goes to Toytown when she was five, and she once tried to read everything in her local library starting with A and working her way through the alphabet.
She loves long, hot summer days and cold winter ones snuggled in front of the fire, but whatever the weather she’s usually writing or thinking about writing, with heartwarming romance and happy-ever-afters always on her mind..
