All comments on this blog are moderated before being posted. If you think you’re going to reply to a post and put a link to your blog, business or something you’re selling it’s not going to get posted and I’ll just delete. I just went through 15 pending comments with links and deleted them all. I pay for my blog and you’re not going to advertise on it for free. Don’t waste your time or mine.

Have you gotten the comments with links, then they say “I’d follow your blog but I can’t find the follow button!” Those bother me more than they should 🤨

Tell me about it. I can’t find that elusive follow button they say. I’ve seen it posted on other blogs too so it’s not just us they are bothering. They should seriously be reported.

Take it as a positive sign that we aren’t as doomed by the rise of AI as people say. If bots can be incredibly slack and lazy, we will win; we have thousands of years of experience in being lazy ne’er do-wells.

I will give some of them credit for persistence. They will come right back with a new domain name or registered email within 1 to 2 days.
I had one recently that left a comment and all it said was “Follow me”. Um…no lol

So true, I’ve already noticed that 😜 no.one should have to ask/tell someone to follow them. Their blog speaks for itself, if you like it you’re going to follow it. If not you move on and they shouldn’t mind because don’t they want people there that actually like their content? 🤔😂

Exactly. So many of these people think it’s just a numbers game and are probably thinking they’ll make their fortune as a content writer. 🙄
The irony is, even if you like the content and actually take the time to comment, most of them won’t even bother to reply. lol

You’re absolutely right. They don’t care about the people just want you there for the numbers. And if they actually do reply it’s weeks later. Yep, had it happen. At that point it’s like why bother?

I don’t think I have had someone come back weeks later and reply, but I am not shocked that it happens.
I give people a fair shot, but if they just constantly post b.s. or blow me off, eventually they get dropped.

Same here. I wish that WordPress will provide a way to report them or permanently blocked them instead of us deleting them every time.

You can block people from your blog and that’s what I’ve taken to doing when I’ve been fed up with their spam comments.
