If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?
I would make a law that all dogs and cats kept as pets have to be spayed and neutered to end animal suffering. Animal mills for breeding and animal hoarding would not exist.

There is one issue though, and that is that certain large dog breeds cannot be neutered / spayed before the age of 18 months and even two years without significant impact on their health. That is true for Leonbergers. They need the hormones to develop into healthy dogs. However, Leonberger owners and the Leonberge community is such a responsible group that “unplanned pregnancies” is almost unheard of.
An exception could be made for the larger breeds, hopefully they would have responsible owners. Glad to hear that, I’m sure they are well cared for.
A hard question. My first thought was to create a uniform, reasonable law about abortion, but that is way too fraught with politics! My second thought is term limits for our politicians.
I agree it is a hard question. So many things need changed and I agree with the things you mentioned.
