Daily Prompt

What are your biggest challenges?

My biggest challenge right now is finding the motivation to go outside and take a long daily walk. I live in Pennsylvania, and it’s been mighty cold, windy and rainy here with a big storm coming this weekend. Who wants to go out in that? Surely not me and I’m more than ready for Spring.

Have a beautiful day. Thank you for stopping in.

I agree with you there. I had a membership at Planet Fitness for 2.5 years and just didn’t see the results I thought I would and this was going 4-5 days a week every week. Finally quit my membership last month.

We live in a rural village area and our closest town is 20 minutes away, 25 minutes to the gym. It’s time consuming with the commute time both ways, the workout and then usually stopping at Walmart or popping into the convenience store for an iced tea it also became too much. Took way too much of the day multiple times a week.

Fortunately, I walk daily for my dogs. What??? I never used to understand that comment, but now I do. They need it and so do I. I must admit I am having as much trouble adapting to the weather change as to the time change. Fortunately I have a coyote coat with a hood that makes it doable. And keeps my dogs happy! Last year, I only missed 3 days and that was for ice. I’m not willing to deliberately risk a fall. Find some exercise that you will keep up with that doesn’t involve an hour commute.😊 Your body will thank you for it!

It’s so true, the more you move your body the better you feel. I’ve fallen in ice and slid down outside stairs on my back in ice, luckily I was bruised but nothing broken. I’m afraid of ice now. That’s wonderful you and your dogs are keeping active. I know they love it too. Darn time change and cold weather is not a fun adjustment. Keep on walking and I’m gonna by to do an indoor walking workout I believe.

Thank you. I’m sorry to hear that. I hope as the weather warms up in a few months you’ll be healed and able to start out doing small walks and work your way up. Be well and best wishes.
