The Summer House Blog Tour

The Summer House

The Summer House

Mead House was once our childhood home.

Despite my fears, I always knew we would have to return to face the demons of our past.

Back to the place where it happened, to where, as carefree teenagers, we lost our elder sister in the most brutal of circumstances.

As executors of our grandmother’s will, my twin brother, Ollie, and I needed to empty the house for resale.

What I didn’t expect to discover was my sister’s secret journal that contained her most private thoughts and shocking dark secrets.

Now I am questioning everything that I saw that night. Did I get it wrong, who I saw?

Did my evidence send an innocent man, my then boyfriend’s brother, to jail for the last 17 years?

I know I have no choice. If I want to find answers, I will have to go back to that fateful night my sister died. When she made her last visit to the summer house.

My Thoughts

Gripping, a raw psychological thriller that will have you looking behind you when you’re walking alone at night. It should be a simple case to solve, it seems very evident of the guilty party. An open and closed case, but not so fast. Trust no one, because when you start to trust, you will take the fall.
I couldn’t sleep until I finished this, it kept me reading until the wee hours of the morning.
I am addicted to these thrillers, it’s a rush, even though there are so many subplots I can never see them coming.

Blog Tour for Dreams Come True at Primrose Hall by Jill Steeples

About The Book

Dreams Come True at Primrose Hall

Pia Temple has always had a soft spot for Jackson Moody following a passionate teenage love affair that burnt out over one long summer, more than ten years ago. First loves can be hard to forget, and the devastatingly gorgeous Jackson, is harder to forget than most.

After putting aside her ambitions while she cared for her parents, it is finally time for Pia to think about herself. So, when she’s offered the perfect job running the social calendar at Primrose Hall, with a dreamy flat included, how can she refuse? There’s only one problem… The new owner of the refurbished seventeenth-century manor house set in the idyllic Primrose Woods, is none other than Jackson, the man she’s thought about every day for years.

In a whirl of weddings and craft fairs, literary festivals and tea parties, Pia blossoms in her new role. But with the delectable Jackson a daily distraction, maybe this isn’t the dream job after all – especially when Jackson’s unfeasibly beautiful ex-girlfriend Tara, comes back to visit the hall…

Dreams Come True at Primrose Hall is the perfect feel-good love story to brighten even the darkest day. Just right for fans of Cathy Bramley, Heidi Swain and Julie Houston.

My Thoughts

The characters have jumped off the pages and become friends. I’m about to pop in and have tea with them. Primrose Hall sounds marvelous. I can see how anyone would feel comfortable living there. And the spacious grounds sound ideal as well.
I am getting ahead of myself though.
Pia continues to live in her home after her parents’ death and her mother’s best friend, Wendy lives next door. Pia has known Wendy her whole life and she sees her as a grandmotherly figure. With Wendy’s increasing mobility issues Pia pops in and takes her dog Betrice for a walk daily while checking on and having a visit with Wendy. This comes to an end when Wendy has a bad fall and she has to go the hospital and then will have a long recovery. Pia has to move out of her house, and she doesn’t want to leave Wendy’s dog.
An ex is looking for a help mate at Primrose Hall and it looks like the perfect solution for Pia, a home and a place for Betrice.
This book follows Pia as she adjusts to living at Primrose Hall while having her own flat there. Seeing her ex and him being her boss can get rather awkward. Jackson Moody seems to be everywhere Pia looks and it just brings to the forefront their long-ago romance. If only he wasn’t so nice, and she wasn’t falling for him all over again. After meeting Daniel and going on several dates with him, she isn’t sure who to choose for a boyfriend and it becomes a bit of a love triangle. I know who I chose before she chose, and I think she made the right choice.
I enjoyed this book so much. Meeting Wendy the grandmotherly woman, the wonderful Bertie that everyone loved and did not want to see go to her old owner and I loved the sweet romance this book had. This feel-good make you happy book is perfect for sipping your tea and totally relaxing after a stressful day.

Blog tour for The Rescue by S L Rosewarne

The Rescue

When terrier Moll’s owner dies, she is determined to protect his widow, Suki. As Suki navigates grief, dating and men with baggage of their own, Moll tries to push her beloved owner to moving on with someone Moll has chosen, with a good sense of humour, a generous heart, and a steady supply of biscuits.

But Suki has a frustrating habit of doing things the way she wants, instead of Moll’s way. Until she meets Ted, who Moll adores almost as much as Suki. Ted, though, has demons of his own, so is he really the right choice for Suki?

With Moll getting older, and Suki still struggling, can this devoted up fulfil her promise to look after her owner, before her time runs out?

A quirky tale of second chances, told through the eyes of woman’s best friend.

My Thoughts

Told from Moll the dog’s point of view. Her owner’s husband died from cancer and she, Suki is having a difficult time of it. The dog is able to sense people’s emotions by smell and knows how they are feeling and is able to cheer them up. She is hoping in time Suki will have another romance, someone to spend time with and share life’s moments. We follow the ups and downs of Suki and Moll and anyone that has ever owned a dog knows how they can sense our emotions. A heartwarming story.

Blog Tour for Silver Blooms Flower Shop by K.T.Dady

Silver Blooms Flower Shop

Welcome to Pepper Bay. A small close-knit community where you’ll find chocolate box cottages, quaint shops, love drama, and a happily ever after.

Snuggle down with this cosy, feel-good, comfort read that whisks you away to a beautiful bay on the Isle of Wight – Perfect for fans of Christie Barlow, Phillipa Ashley, and Holly Martin.

The Pepper Bay books are standalone stories that intertwine with recurring characters. Best enjoyed when read in order,

Silver Blooms Flower Shop: Lexi and Bryce have never been friends. She views him as her childhood bully. So, she finds a way to stick it to the fancy-schmancy businessman by using his name as her pen name for the erotic romance books that she writes. That way, when potential clients try to check him out online, all they will see is fishnet stockings, sexy CEOs, and steamy sneak previews. But, when Not-Nice-Bryce comes back home to confront her, their past comes flooding back, and maybe it wasn’t as bad as she remembers.

My Thoughts

Written in dual points of view, Lexi and Bryce. Having known each other since they were teenagers it’s helpful to see flashback of situations to when they were teens, so we have an understanding why they think/ do the things they do now. He was popular in high school; she was shy and got harassed a lot. In school when she was harassed, he would stick up for her, but she just didn’t see it as him liking her. She thought it couldn’t be possible because she felt like she was a nobody, and he was one of the popular guys. After he went away to college, she tried to forget him but just couldn’t. When he returns to Pepper Bay, she tries to play it cool. Does he still like her?
She enjoyed her time working at Silver Blooms and is sorry to see that come to an end when she was a teenager. This is my first visit to Pepper Bay, and it was an enjoyable one. Filled with laughs, friendships, forgiveness, trust, family and romance this is one you’ll not want to miss.

Blog Tour for Finding Refuge in Bellbird Bay by Maggie Christensen

About The Book

Thirty-five years ago, tragedy forced Bev Cooper to cut short her university studies and seek refuge in her hometown of Bellbird Bay. Today, as the owner of the thriving Pandanus Garden Centre and Café, Bev has moved beyond the past and is happy in her solitary existence.

Following the tragic death of his son’s wife, Iain Grant takes early retirement and moves with his devastated son and granddaughter to the peaceful coastal town of Bellbird Bay hoping it will provide the change of scene they all desperately need.

When Iain’s son accepts a position at Bev’s garden centre, the pair find themselves drawn into each other’s lives. But as they begin to enjoy an unexpected attraction, issues from the past threaten to derail their growing relationship.

Will the healing atmosphere of Bellbird Bay work its magic and provide a second chance in life, or will Bev find it too difficult to put the past behind her and enjoy her own happy ever after?

A heartwarming tale of family, friends, and how a second chance at love can happen when you least expect it.

My Thoughts

Finding Refuge in Bellbird Bay is the fifth book in the Bellbird Bay series.
I have enjoyed all Bellbird Bay has to offer on my two visits there. Peace and solitude along the beach are here but if you’d like a little conversation there are friendly neighbors and a scenic view from the boardwalk. I think I’d enjoy a longer visit next time.
Getting to know the people of Bellbird Bay, I feel at home here and have enjoyed the characters from both of the books I’ve read.
Finding Refuge in Bellbird Bay starts off with Iain Grant taking an early retirement and moving with his son and granddaughter to Bellbird Bay after the tragic death of his son’s wife.
Bev Cooper is the owner of garden shop and cafe Pandanus Garden Centre and Café. She has come a long way and worked hard to leave her past behind and is now back in her beautiful hometown of Bellbird Bay. Sometimes as much as we want them to those old memories won’t stay in the past. This is what happens when Iain’s son starts working at her garden shop with her.
As Iain and Bev start to become acquainted their friendship looks like it may go into the romantic territory, but will past issues put a damper on things?
First of all, I love how the romance focuses on an older couple, not all romances are young people. Older people enjoy romance very much as well.
A truly heartwarming book focusing on friendships, trust, listening, understanding, giving second chances and family. This is a warm and huggable story.

My Thoughts

An emotional family drama set during the Roaring twenties.
I have not read the first book in this series, instead jumping in at book two of three. I absolutely need to read book one now.
The book is very wordy at 480 pages, and I loved it. The more descriptive for me the better.
Set during the 1920's we can see woman are starting to stand up for themselves and not be dominated by men anymore.
There is strife, there is drama, as there is in every family but at the end of the day there is the love of family.
This book features three sisters and their mother. The women all live in different parts of the world, one in Canada, one in Egypt and one in Paris.
There is a lot going on in this story as it takes place over years. What I found to make it easier to follow is if you concentrate on each woman and their story rather than concentrate on too many characters at once.
I really enjoyed this historical fiction and learning about the different foods, languages and customs of each country.
The widowed mother has a secret her daughters must not find out. It happened during her younger days when she was not married. Living in London she must now face her past.
One of the daughters lives in Alberta, Canada amongst the wheat fields.
Another daughter lives in Cairo running a health clinic. Another daughter lives in Paris trying to forget her past.
I enjoyed seeing how the women and their mother communicated by letter. Though they may not agree on everything there is always love, communication and encouragement.
The book is very well researched. I felt as if I were right there in the story experiencing all this with the characters.
This is a wonderful, wonderful book. The next book can't come out soon enough for me!
