ABOUT THE BOOK

A pickpocket turned lady and a prince with a forgotten past find love in the most unexpected place…

So when she arrives in British Columbia and takes a respectable job working for a pair of society sisters who offer to give her etiquette lessons, she’s one step closer to that dream. But when an unexpected encounter with an unconscious man turns her world upside down, Juliet must choose between her heart and her aspirations.

Weary of the pressure of royal life, Prince Henry Graighton longs for solace and anonymity. But when tragedy strikes and his brother winds up dead, Henry finds himself thrust into the role of heir apparent, leaving him to struggle with the weight of his grief and unwanted responsibility. And when Henry is kidnapped, he narrowly escapes with his life…but loses his memories in the process. In his darkest hour, a beacon of hope emerges in the form of Juliet, his savior and the key to unlocking his forgotten past.

With danger lurking at every turn and the weight of Henry’s royal duties looming over them, can their budding romance withstand the trials that lie ahead, or will Juliet be forced to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of Henry’s kingdom?

MY THOUGHTS

I loved the Bride Ships: New Voyages series. This is the fourth and final book in it. Each book features a different woman who has sailed on a journey to a new start leaving bad memories behind.

It’s always fun to meet up with characters from previous books in a current read and see how things have progressed for them.
Full of surprising twists and turns this is a faith filled Christian fiction series that kept me reading late into the night.

I was so happy to see our young couple get their magical fairytale like ending. I enjoyed seeing our characters grow and mature as life lessons were learned and accepted.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own.

 THE ROMANOV BRIDES  Blog Tour

I am so excited to share this book with you today and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Paperback edition 377 pages William Morrow paperbacks March 12,2024 publication date

From the author of A Most English Princess comes a rich novel about young Princess Alix of Hesse—the future Alexandra, last Empress of Imperial Russia—and her sister, Princess Ella. Their decision to marry into the Romanov royal family changed history.

They were granddaughters of Queen Victoria and two of the most beautiful princesses in Europe. Princesses Alix and Ella were destined to wed well and wisely. But while their grandmother wants to join them to the English and German royal families, the sisters fall in love with Russia—and the Romanovs.

Defying the Queen’s dire warnings, Ella weds the tsar’s brother, Grand Duke Serge. Cultivated, aloof, and proud, Serge places his young wife on a pedestal for all to admire. Behind palace gates, Ella struggles to secure private happiness.

Alix, whisked away to Russia for Ella’s wedding, meets and captivates Nicky—heir apparent to the Russian throne. While loving him deeply, Alix hears a call of conscience, urging her to walk away.

Their fateful decisions to marry will lead to tragic consequences for not only themselves and their families, but for millions in Russia and around the globe.

The Romanov Brides is a moving and fascinating portrait of two bold and spirited royal sisters, and brings to vivid life imperial Russia—a dazzling, decadent world on the brink of disappearing forever.

MY THOUGHTS

I don’t read many books about royalty. The last being about two years ago, but when I saw this book, I knew I had to read it as it sounded fascinating.
I am always eager to read historical fiction based on facts as this book is. This material presented in this book has been thoroughly researched for which I am very appreciative.

I am always ready to learn from what I read. There were many characters in the book, some with a brief mention and others playing a much larger role in the book. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, they all felt very realistic in the situations and speech they were presented with.

I thoroughly enjoyed “meeting” the four sisters of Hesse. Following the brides from childhood through their marriages and beyond. After their mother’s death, Queen Victoria, their grandmother is there to guide them in what she considers appropriate marriages to English or German royal families. Despite her best, two of the sisters fall in love with Russia, and Romanovs.

I so much enjoyed entering the world of the royalty and was captivated as I read. Just like us these are flawed people, and their choices have consequences as well. There is much happiness in their lives, but tragedy also comes to visit. These are very strong people who persevere.

I loved the elegant writing style of the author and will be reading more when she writes it. I want to personally thank the author for writing this book. I learned so much and found it fascinating.

Publication Day Post: A Winter by the Sea (On Devonshire Shores Book #2)

440 pages December 5,2023 publication date Bethany House publishers

ABOUT THE BOOK

Royalty comes to Sidmouth, bringing unexpected danger and the sweet possibility of romance. . . .

When the Duke and Duchess of Kent and their daughter–the future Queen Victoria–rent neighboring Woolbrook Cottage for the winter, the Summers sisters are called upon to host three of the royal family’s male staff in their seaside house. But they soon realize they’ve invited secrets and intrigue into their home.

Meanwhile, Emily Summers longs to become an author. A local publisher offers to consider her novel if she will first write a Sidmouth guidebook for him. Emily agrees and begins researching the area with help from the Duke of Kent’s handsome private secretary. But a surprise visitor from her past shows up at Sea View, leaving Emily torn between the desires she’s long held dear and her budding dreams for the future.

Return to the Devonshire coast with the Summers sisters, where loyalties are tested, secrets come to light, and new love emerges.

MY THOUGHTS

A Winter by the Sea is the second book in the On Devonshire Shores series. Having read the first I eagerly looked forward to reading this one and was not disappointed.

I feel as though once again I’ve gone back in time with the Summers sisters. They have new neighbors for the winter season, the Duke and Duchess of Kent and their daughter–the future Queen Victoria–who rent neighboring Woolbrook Cottage. I enjoyed getting to know the royalty and seeing how they interacted.

When the staff they bring with them doesn’t all fit in Woolbrook Cottage the male staff will be staying at the seaside house. The characters are so well presented and researched; I enjoyed getting to know them all.

So many different personalities, a few are quite the characters. There are not many authors that can write regency romance the way this author can. Each storyline is unique with characters and plots that hold my attention and makes me want to read more.

Romance and an intriguing storyline with realistic scenes will have you remembering this story long after you’re done.

I highly recommend this series and book.
