Blog Blitz for The Llama Farm on New Moon Lane by Laura Briggs

About The Book

Purchase Link: https://mybook.to/newmoonlane

Young and quiet, Lucy Granger leads an introverted life in Reading, living in a flat and working in design at a graphics company—until it is upended when she both sells her idea for a mobile game and suffers an unexpected medical diagnosis shortly afterwards.

Facing a mandated medical rest period, she decides to use her windfall earnings to take a year’s holiday, renting a farm on New Moon Lane in a country village in Yorkshire. As Lucy settles into her holiday home for some tranquility, she soon learns that she is not the only tenant, when a llama named Llarry strolls out of the farm’s supposedly-derelict barn. He is shortly followed by others in a menagerie of abandoned animals left behind—from a sickly donkey who likes eating crisps to a flirtatious cockerel sleeping in the back garden.

To Lucy’s consternation, no one is willing or able to take them on, leaving her with a strange mix of furry and feathered friends to find homes for. Reluctantly adapting to her circumstances in order to deal with this problem, Lucy will discover other surprises about the animals in her care, and the place she is temporarily calling home. About herself, as well.

Will her ordinary life ever be the same after her experience on New Moon Lane? More importantly, should she really want it to be?

My Thoughts

Lucy Granger creates video games for cell phones. She’s really good at her job but under pressure to design faster. She needs a break and finds the perfect summer rental in the country. Yes, it needs some work but what bargain basement place doesn’t? Several days after moving into her new country rental she notices several animals on the farm, to the tune of a sickly donkey, a curious llama and a cranky rooster. What is going on? Turns out the caretaker has quit and there is no one to take care of the animals that were originally used as animals that special needs children would visit and help groom and feed. It worked out beautifully, the animals and children both loved it. Now Lucy is a city girl and has no idea how to take care of animals such as dogs or cats let alone farm animals. The vet gives her medicine for the donkey who makes a quick recovery along with the help of eating his favorite food, crisps. She gets a quick education on the care of the animals and meets quite a few of the people living in the surrounding area. She’s not used to everyone knowing everyone else’s business but adapts. This sort of reminds me of a James Herriot story with the funny tales of the endearing animals. No romance in the book either which is a welcome change. The story focuses on her, and the animals and I absolutely loved it. There is another book releasing in November and I can’t wait to read it.

The author

Laura Briggs is the author of several feel-good romance reads, including the Top 100 Amazon UK seller ‘A Wedding in Cornwall’. She has a fondness for vintage style dresses (especially ones with polka dots), and reads everything from Jane Austen to modern day mysteries. Next book in the series

Lucy Granger is settling into her new life as a permanent tenant on New Moon Lane. Her picture book about Llarry and the other animals has been published, and she has even maintained the unusual friendships she has formed.

The unexpected is still prone to happen, however. Lucy receives a series of unusual greeting cards addressed to the llamas, revealing another unusual part of the farm’s story. It also introduces her to the precocious and persistent Princess Hannah, who wants to change Lucy’s way of thinking about the animals’ former purpose.

Meanwhile, Lucy’s attempts to find Kenny the cockerel a companion only creates troubles for herself, whilst also bringing three more troublemakers under her metaphorical wing. And the young vet Arthur Elliot makes a medical observation regarding Philly’s health, which requires a Christmas miracle.

Blog Tour: A Vintage Vacation – Maddie Please

About The Book

Clover Harrington might be sixty-one, but she’s still bossing it in the corporate world and can still run rings around her younger colleagues. And then she is made redundant….

Devastated and now suddenly the wrong side of sixty Clover doesn’t know what to do with her life or her corporate wardrobe! What does she wear if not red lippy and a power suit?! Desperate to get away from it all, Clover decides to visit her cousin Zoe at her small taverna in the gorgeous Italian Lakes. There she can rest and recuperate and plan the next stage of her life.

Until Clover’s eighty-year-old mother, Eleanor decides to turn up for the holiday too! Instead of gentle ambles around the lake, Eleanor seems more interested in late night poker and swigging Prosecco and Clover can’t quite believe her mum is having more fun than she is. But as the saying goes – if you can’t beat em, join em!

But is Clover brave enough to live La Dolce Vita?

Grab a copy here

My Thoughts

Many people retire before age 60 but not Clover Harrington, she’s still at the top of the corporate ladder and can show those young pups a thing or two in the business world. Then no, the devastation…… she’s made redundant at work.
When her partner would rather play 18 holes than talk about her problem, she’s outta here and off to a bright a breezy location.
Welcome to delightful Italy! With a handsome man in the picture who is caring and actually takes the time to listen to what she says, she may just be hooked. Watch out for Mama though! I have to say when Clover’s mother shows up unexpectedly, she may have just stolen the show. You never quite know what to expect with her and she has quite a few antics to keep you entertained.
I love how the author uses older characters as her main characters as it makes for a fun and quirky read. We all can take a lesson from this book, don’t give up there is life to live and just go out and find your own adventure. I’m ready for the next fun adventure from this author as I always look forward to her books.

About The Book

Spin the Bottle

Besides, whenever she tries to find The One, it always ends in disaster. From Tinder tragedies to trampolining tribulations, Celeste is starting to think that she’s cursed.

But then Travis begins to pop up wherever she goes, and Celeste knows with stomach-sinking clarity that fate has finally caught up with them. My Thoughts

A delectable, delicious foodie rom com with a splash of citrus.

A fun romance that’ll keep you laughing out loud, so expect the unexpected.
While reading this delight be sure to have some lemon meringue and possibly a lemonade.

Blog Tour for Freya’s French Farmhouse by Daisy James

Freya’s French Farmhouse

Welcome to Freya’s French Farmhouse, the second book in a brand new series from the author of the Hummingbird Hotel series and the Cornish Confetti Agency series.

Escape to the French Riviera!

After losing her aromatherapy studio in the Blossomwood Bay fire, Freya Farnham finds herself at a loose end, especially when her trusty Renault decides that it’s time to head to the scrapyard in the sky. Now she has no excuse not to agree to her parents’ request to head to the pretty village of Saint-Julien to find out why her late Uncle Toby’s gorgeous French farmhouse isn’t selling, even when the real estate agent, Xavier Deschamps, advertises himself as “the best in the whole of Provence”.

As soon as she arrives, Freya realises what the problem is, and so, with the help of handsome local car mechanic Jacques Jordan, she invests her last euro in a kaleidoscope of cleaning products and sets about transforming the drab and dusty dwelling into a chic and shiny château. Little did she know that in the process she would discover more about her family’s history than she bargained for.

Can she come to terms with her past? Or will the demons that have been snapping at her heels since childhood prevent her from seizing the chance to achieve a much-longed-for sense of belonging in the friendly community where she’s treated as one of their own?

Why not join Freya as she explores the lavender-infused Provençal countryside, and enjoy a trip filled with fun, fragrance, and delicious foodie treats with a dash of heart-warming romance thrown in for good measure!

My Thoughts

If you want a rom com, you’re gonna absolutely love with an exotic location, a little bit of a mystery, a whole lot of romance a bit of drama and a fabulous plot well you’re just gonna love Freya’s French Farmhouse.

Freya’s parents insist she head to the village of Saint-Julien and find out why her late Uncle Toby’s gorgeous French farmhouse isn’t selling. It’s been on the market for a while with supposedly the best agent around. He’s not exactly friendly when she goes to confront him and ask what is going on and then, he drops a bombshell on that that throws her for a loop. Loving the mystery and drama bit in this.

So heartwarming, the characters are people you’d absolutely want to know.
Freya is just looking for a place to hang her hat and feel at home. With missionary parents even though they had a very important job to do she never felt she fit in anywhere except for her uncle’s farmhouse which is now for sale.

The homey, charming village she is in sounds fantastic. The people super friendly and accommodating, when she’s down on her luck they are right there for her. The romance is sweet, and the characters are they type that make you want the best for them. I loved the plot and can not wait to read more in this series. Warm, friendly and you can’t stop reading til it’s done.

Blog Tour for Just Friends at Thistle Lodge by Margaret Amatt

About the Book

Just Friends at Thistle Lodge

One romantic getaway. Two friends. Seven days just pretending…

When Nina Copeland’s mates try to match her with the guy next door, she needs a plan. Because Matthew’s just a friend, and Nina has a secret she doesn’t want him to discover – not until she’s tidied her messy life.

After his divorce, physics teacher Matthew Gilchrist has kept his heart locked safely away. So why do people keep pushing him to date his chirpy neighbour? He and Nina are fine just as friends. Aren’t they?

Nina hatches a solution to get everyone off their backs: fake a relationship at a family reunion, then stage a break-up so life can go back to normal. What could go wrong?

Stuck together at a romantic highland lodge, new feelings lure them out of the friend zone. But if love is to find a way in, Nina must confront her past, and Matthew put his heart on the line.

My Thoughts

This is my intro to the Glenbriar series taking place in the Scottish Highlands and author Margaret Amatt and now that I’ve had a sample of her books it won’t be my last.
The chemistry between Nina and Matt is incredible.

Their relationship goes from next door neighbors as friends to fake dating to the real thing. It was such fun seeing them both squirm as they tried to keep it casual and not admit to even themselves how much they were wanting to take it to the next step but didn’t want to go over boundaries because they weren’t sure how the other one felt about them.

When they were able to just relax and become themselves the sizzle took off. He is a high school teacher and divorced she is currently unemployed because of a bad experience.
The author creates a very warm, well developed story line with likeable characters and realistic situations.

I absolutely cannot wait to read more by this author, a new favorite of mine.

Blog Tour for The Collaborator’s Daughter by Eva Glyn

About The Book

In 1944 in war-torn Dubrovnik Branko Milisic holds his newborn daughter Safranka and wishes her a better future. But while the Nazis are finally retreating, the arrival of the partisans brings new dangers for Branko, his wife Dragica and their new baby…

As older sister to two half-siblings, Fran has always known she has to fit in. But now, for the first time in her life Fran is facing questions about who she is and where she comes from.

All Fran knows about her real father is that he was a hero, and her mother had to flee Dubrovnik after the war. But when she travels to the city of her birth to uncover the truth, she is devastated to discover her father was executed by the partisans in 1944, accused of being a collaborator. But the past isn’t always what it seems…

My Thoughts

This is the first book I’ve read by this author.
This is an incredible story that I connected with the characters right away.
A beautifully written dual timeline I was immersed in the story as I read.
I liked that the main character is a woman in her sixties as many books do not have a main character this age and it’s wonderful to see women this age shine.
Though going by Fran her actual name is Safranka.
Fran was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia and towards the end of the Second World War.
Her stepfather has just passed away and her mother several years before this. She really didn’t know her father and she is upset that she can’t ask her mother about it.
Having spent most of her life in England she knows she must go the land of her birth, Dubrovnik, Croatia. There she meets handsome men Vedran and his uncle Jadran. The descriptions of Croatia’s food, culture, scenery and its people made my imagination come alive. I could just picture it all. This is a journey she will take with Jadran who encourages her in her research to find out about her father’s life. She discovers to move forward in her journey you first have to move backwards, and the past is closer than you think.
Such a beautiful story, very touching, heartwarming and will not be forgotten.

The Author

Eva Glyn writes escapist relationship-driven fiction with a kernel of truth at its heart. She loves to travel and finds inspiration in beautiful places and the stories they hide.

Her last holiday before lockdown was a trip to Croatia, and the country’s haunting histories and gorgeous scenery have proved fertile ground, driven by her friendship with a tour guide she met there. His wartime story provided the inspiration for The Olive Grove and his help in creating a realistic portrayal of Croatian life has proved invaluable. Her second novel set in the country, An Island of Secrets is a dual timeline looking back to World War 2, and although a contemporary romance featuring mature main characters her third, The Collaborator’s Daughter, has its roots in that conflict too.

Boldwood Blog Tour for One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm by Jo Bartlett

I am so happy to help kick off the blog tour on publication day of Jo Bartletts’ One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm. I have been just loving this series and was so excited to see another addition to it.

About The Book

One Last Summer at Seabreeze Farm

A summer to remember…

Georgia Banks knows she’s living on borrowed time. So, when doctors tell her she’s got one last summer to make all her dreams come true, she’s determined to make every day count.

The one thing that’s never in doubt, is that she wants her best friend, Gabe, to be with her every step of the way. And so, Georgia draws up her not-a-bucket list with all the things she’s determined to tick off before she goes – number one of which is to spend one last summer by the sea.

Seabreeze Farm perched high on the cliffs above the English Channel is the perfect spot, and surrounded by the antics of its menagerie of rescued animals and the warmth of the friendship she’s offered there, Georgia starts to believe she can live out all her dreams before it’s too late.

And just when she thinks there’s nothing left to wish for, Georgia gets another chance at life. But taking it might mean losing the one person she cares about the most.

As she faces her biggest challenge yet, Georgia wonders if her last summer at Seabreeze Farm will mean the end of her biggest dream of all.

This book was previously published as One Last Summer at Channel View Farm

My Thoughts

What an incredibly emotional book. I love this author’s books, and this is unlike any I have read from the rom com genre before. It emphasizes the importance of organ donation to help others in desperate need.
I have always enjoyed reading the Seabreeze Farm series with its farmhouse perched high up on the cliffs above the English Channel. It truly sounds like the perfect relaxation place to be.
Before you start reading this do have your tissues ready.
Georgia and Gabe have known each other all their life, he has seen her in good times and bad. Recently its been more of her going through the bad times. You see Georgia has failing health and is told she has one last summer to make all her dreams come true. With her bucket list ready of simple things like spending her last days by the sea and having a puppy. She doesn’t dare to voice aloud her one wish she’s doesn’t in a million years think will come true. All these wishes, she wants Gabe by her side all the way.
Gabe will be with her all the way as she gets her last wish filled in such an unexpected way.
All the emotions with this one. I loved it!

My Thoughts

Better off Wed is another book by Rom Com author Portia MacIntosh .
Her books are so much fun and are always a laugh out loud guarantee.

I was reading this and it’s going along fine and then all the sudden the book changes direction unexpectedly. In a book sometimes its good and sometimes it’s not. In this case this unexpected diversion was funny. I was rooting for the main character.

Where there is a major rush job on an upcoming wedding you can just imagine the chaos the ensues. A beach house with a beautiful view is where the family and everyone goes to plan the upcoming weddings, yes, a double wedding as her brother and his fiancée are marrying on the same date.

They double wedding is agreed upon because it is a family tradition to marry on the Cornish Coast in a barn her grandfather had built. With only one slot left and the wedding date so close they have only a few weeks to plan this wedding, throw in a fiancée who doesn’t want anything to do with wedding plans well you can see how much of a disaster this could really be.

The book had me laughing and just imagining what all could happen. Could a change of plans be in the works?
Wonderful escape read that makes you feel happy with this read.

Blog Tour for Dreams Come True at Primrose Hall by Jill Steeples

About The Book

Dreams Come True at Primrose Hall

Pia Temple has always had a soft spot for Jackson Moody following a passionate teenage love affair that burnt out over one long summer, more than ten years ago. First loves can be hard to forget, and the devastatingly gorgeous Jackson, is harder to forget than most.

After putting aside her ambitions while she cared for her parents, it is finally time for Pia to think about herself. So, when she’s offered the perfect job running the social calendar at Primrose Hall, with a dreamy flat included, how can she refuse? There’s only one problem… The new owner of the refurbished seventeenth-century manor house set in the idyllic Primrose Woods, is none other than Jackson, the man she’s thought about every day for years.

In a whirl of weddings and craft fairs, literary festivals and tea parties, Pia blossoms in her new role. But with the delectable Jackson a daily distraction, maybe this isn’t the dream job after all – especially when Jackson’s unfeasibly beautiful ex-girlfriend Tara, comes back to visit the hall…

Dreams Come True at Primrose Hall is the perfect feel-good love story to brighten even the darkest day. Just right for fans of Cathy Bramley, Heidi Swain and Julie Houston.

Purchase Link – https://amzn.to/3Xs9cyZ

My Thoughts

The characters have jumped off the pages and become friends. I’m about to pop in and have tea with them. Primrose Hall sounds marvelous. I can see how anyone would feel comfortable living there. And the spacious grounds sound ideal as well.
I am getting ahead of myself though.
Pia continues to live in her home after her parents’ death and her mother’s best friend, Wendy lives next door. Pia has known Wendy her whole life and she sees her as a grandmotherly figure. With Wendy’s increasing mobility issues Pia pops in and takes her dog Betrice for a walk daily while checking on and having a visit with Wendy. This comes to an end when Wendy has a bad fall and she has to go the hospital and then will have a long recovery. Pia has to move out of her house, and she doesn’t want to leave Wendy’s dog.
An ex is looking for a help mate at Primrose Hall and it looks like the perfect solution for Pia, a home and a place for Betrice.
This book follows Pia as she adjusts to living at Primrose Hall while having her own flat there. Seeing her ex and him being her boss can get rather awkward. Jackson Moody seems to be everywhere Pia looks and it just brings to the forefront their long-ago romance. If only he wasn’t so nice, and she wasn’t falling for him all over again. After meeting Daniel and going on several dates with him, she isn’t sure who to choose for a boyfriend and it becomes a bit of a love triangle. I know who I chose before she chose, and I think she made the right choice.
I enjoyed this book so much. Meeting Wendy the grandmotherly woman, the wonderful Bertie that everyone loved and did not want to see go to her old owner and I loved the sweet romance this book had. This feel-good make you happy book is perfect for sipping your tea and totally relaxing after a stressful day.
