If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?

I would make a law that all dogs and cats kept as pets have to be spayed and neutered to end animal suffering. Animal mills for breeding and animal hoarding would not exist.

A dream home to me would have a long tree lined drive, many acres, beautiful gardens of flowers and vegetables, and a koi pond. Inside would have a gleaming foyer and a spiral staircase with a skylight looking down upon the staircase. There would be a circular window at the top of the steps. I would have a library with actual metal library bookshelves big enough for all my books. A table and reading nooks and couches would be in my library. There would be plenty of big bedrooms with walk in closets. I would have a room to put the stray cats in I am taking care of until they are well, and they could be in the rest of the house. At least 3 full bathrooms and a nice sized kitchen with a kitchen island with plenty of room for food preparation. There would be a barn for storage and multiple outbuildings. Along with all this luxury I guess I would have to have hired help, but I wouldn’t be comfortable telling people what to do.

My first thought is to share my wonderful news with my husband. What makes me happy makes him happy. What makes him happy makes me happy.

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

When I was younger I had more of a variety of hobbies I used to do. I used to do latch hook, sewing, painting, and drawing. Now when I have spare time I usually read . I read back then too but much more now.

One of my favorites candies are the old-fashioned ribbon style candy available at Christmas time.

Do you need a break? From what?

I need a break from rude and self centered people when I go out.

The internet. It has improved a lot of things but also made other things worse.

My ideal day would be waking up and having a long walk along the beach while looking at the sunrise with my entire family there including all my children. We would then have a delicious healthy breakfast and I would then take care of the cats I have rescued and given them lots of attention. Afterwards I’d read for some hours and do some hiking in the scenic woods, take a water break at home and go out and explore some thrift stores and head out to the library. Rounding out my day would be a relaxing meal at home with my husband and a bit more reading and playing with the cats before my bedtime shower and bed.

How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?
When we have positive things happen in our lives that make us happy like the birth of a child or a promotion we get endorphins sent to us. They are sending feel-good chemicals and putting us in the right frame of mind. These carry over into our day to day lives and keep us on an even keel while doing ordinary things. At some point we experience downers like the death of a loved one or a serious breakup. This causes our mood to spiral downward and we may need help getting out of this situation if it continues too long.
Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

I honestly can’t think of anything. If it’s on my to-do list it’s getting done. I have the type of personality that I can’t stand things hanging over my head so if I have something I need to do I want it done “yesterday.”
