Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

I’ve never done digital scrapbooking. Sounds interesting. When did you first get into it?

About 15 years ago. I enjoy making digital tags and using different fonts to tag them. I really need to get back into it. The digital scrap kits are so pretty.

I used to sew and do needlepoint a lot. Now I just mend and needlepoint was too hard with my cataracts, and I never got back into it.

Seeing takes a considerable amount of time and patience. I know my grandmother was an excellent seamstress by machine and by hand as well. I wish I had even half the talent she had and she also crocheted which I never caught onto .

My grandma taught me to sew when I was little. When I first started as a teacher and wages were low, I made all my own clothes. Now material is so expensive, it’s cheaper to buy things.

Sad but true, at least you have the wonderful memories of the bonding time with your grandmother. Sad but true it’s also cheaper to eat out a lot of times as well.

I used to do a lot of cross stitch, but haven’t picked up a piece for many years.

Never learned how and in the olden days you heard of really young girls doing their samplers.

Embroidery. I have something from my great-grandmother, grandmother and mother – and something I started but never finishes. And quilting. I made several quilts and then for some reason stopped.

What a blessing to have these treasures. I can understand that, stopping though. It takes quite a lot of time and dedication to keep going when other things seem to occupy our mind and time.

Right! Sadly, it takes away the ability of so many to do their favorite things.

Reading. SO, when I was 11 or so, reading was life. I collected books, and it was my favorite thing ever. Then stress took over at about 14 when I had to do two grades in one year. After that, reading was never the same. Until recently, when I started blogging, and writing again, because reading was my biggest inspiration to write. I’m learning to love reading casually again 🙂

THAT’S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE, TWO GRADES IN ONE YEAR BUT i CAN ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF STRESS AND PRESSURE ON YOU. So glad to hear you’re learning to casually read again. Reading to me is a great gift.

Digital Journaling for me. I used o adore spending time laying out the pages and creating all kinds of different spreads but I find I don’t have the same time for it that I used to, or that I’d rather be doing something else so it all comes out looking half finished. I miss collecting digital stickers though.

All this digital and online stuff can be so time consuming. It’s fun but I needed a break to pursue other interests, but I wouldn’t mind getting back into at some point.
