Daily Prompt: Long distance travel?

Share a story about the furthest you’ve ever traveled from home.

The furthest I’ve ever traveled was when I was 12 years old. My Mom was tired of the Pennsylvania winters and wanted to move somewhere warm. She looked up the hottest place in the USA and she was determined to move there. We moved from North Versailles, PA to Yuma, Az. My Mom and Grandma drove there driving a Uhaul pulling the car. We were in Yuma for one year then moved to Chino Valley, Az then went back home

It is fun to live in the US, yes but we have our share of problems as well. When I was a child it was free for me to live here as my mom paid for everything but we must work hard here in the US to pay for everything as adults. Niagra Falls, Canada and Niagra Falls, NY are fabulous choices to visit and so beautiful to see. Canada requires a passport to travel to.

That was an interesting trip. Not just a vacation but a move with a U-haul truck. The longest trip we took as a family was a three week vacation trip to Australia in 2005. We visited, Sydney, Brisbane, the grand barrier reef, the tropical forest in the north, and the blue mountains. Then I traveled by myself to India on a business trip in 2014.

Yes we saw a lot in Australia. With my India trip I was so busy with business that I did not see a lot and then I got sick over the weekend. The one day I saw a little bit was the day when the entire city (of Bangalore) was on strike. I had to walk to work and that way I got to see the city more, the cows in the street, children at Indian schools, the other pedestrians, the colorful saris, a market I walked by, etc.

Great story. I had a similar distance move from Oklahoma to California. Not too long of a distance (coming from a military brat here lol). Dad drove my fam and I in his truck while hauling a van. Our trailer had a flat tire close to our destination though, but it was fixed before we got there. All-in-all, it was a great trip.
