Depends on what the emergency is. You’d prepare for different ones in different ways. Our family has a place to all meet up if need be. Depending on the emergency we’d go from there.

That’s a good start. We have an emergency bag and we can hide under the floor board in case of a devastating tornado.

What a great idea. Yes,you would definitely need a good plan for the weather down there.

Ice storms and hurricanes are what threaten us here. We have a whole house generator now in case we lose power (and we already have twice since it was installed). Water never was a problem when we had a well, but now it could be, so we have a ton of buckets to fill. Probably 2-3 weeks of food in the pantry and freezer. A fireplace that runs on gas.
