What fears have you overcome and how?
I have a fear of heights which is why I’ve never flown on an airplane. I feel like if an airplane has a malfunction you have a lot less chance of surviving it than if you’re in a car accident. Years ago I visited the tallest building in Toronto and believe me it took a lot of courage to do this. Looking out I had a spectacular view and everything looked ant sized. I am glad I did it though.
This is the building we visited in Toronto. The CN tower.

This is very brave of you to write and talk about. I’m glad you made a monumental step towards being at peace with heights (well, what you can tolerate). This is a beautiful read, nice work!

I am terribly afraid of heights. I don’t like to fly, but sometimes I have to it’s psychologically and physically does a horrific number on my body.

This looks very similar to our Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand. I struggle to climb a ladder, but I felt quite safe on the observation deck until the kids wanted me to walk on the glass panels in the floor. I did it, but it is one of the hardest things I have done in my life. Congratulations on facing up to your fear.

CN Tower is a bit freaky. When I went up in it, it was still the tallest building in the world. I think something in Dubai is taller now. Anyway, I think it is a lot less scary to be on a plane than in CN Tower. The good thing about not flying is that you generate less carbon emissions.

No fear of heights – I’ve even been sky-diving. I swim a lot but I do have a fear of being dumped out in the middle of the ocean!
