What are your favorite brands and why?
This is such a generic question. Favorite brands of what? Foods, household cleaning goods? Toilet paper? Clothing? Handbags, cat food, what?
I do prefer name brand cleaning products and pet foods, garbage bags, etc. I believe they are of a better quality. Mostly name brand foods but do get some store brands. I do not care about name brand clothing whatever style I like and that looks good on me whatever brand it is. The same goes for handbags and jewelry as well. I do go for name brand shoes though for comfort because I have wide feet and have had to order tennis shoes online for a wider toe box.
What about you are name brands for you in some items or does it even matter?

As in favourite brand of humans, I’ll pick congenial, honest and loyal ones.

We shop at Costco for household items – their brand is just fine. As for clothes, etc, name brands always!
I’ve never been to Costco but I probably should as I’ve heard a lot of good things about them.
The prices can’t be beat but you have to buy in large quantities, which is good for toilet paper and paper toweling etc. The fruits and veggies are good and the bakery -woo hoo!
The bakery sounds marvelous. I can’t resist a sweet treat.
If it works well, looks nice, fits, or tastes good… that’s my brand

i’ve never been one to follow name brands, nor had the money to do so. i always bought basic–so i could mix and match clothing. now i buy the product i think will do the job best but have become one of those who read the label–ingredients or whatever. most of dog food has unhealthy stuff in it. it’s become easier for me to buy small cans of canned chicken (cheaper than medium cost dog food), chub mackerel, or include an egg on her dry food and i do pay extra for freeze dried raw coated kibble.
I prefer comfort as well with clothing. When my dog was living, I made his food because as you said it’s much healthier.
