Mine would have been my mom. She was such a strong woman (she had to be as she was a widow in her early 40s with 5 children). She went back to school and got her degree. She was a teacher, a wonderful mother, and a great role model.

She sounds like she was a very strong woman. She just did what had to be done. I’m sure you have a lot of wonderful memories. A lot of people today could take a lesson from that, they just want to sit around and feel sorry for themselves and have everyone else take care of them.

Thanks, Deanne. She definitely was and instilled that work ethic and independence in all her children. I agree, people need to stop waiting for a handout.

Mine was, and will always be my Maw maw, my mom’s mom, she was a child in the Depression, married as a teen and had children before WW2, and she showed me a person can be strong and still smile. She endured so much, yet loved even more. I strive to be like her everyday. She’s been at home, in heaven, for 13 years. I miss her everyday.

I’m sorry for your loss. We learn so much from people like this. They didn’t complain just did what needing done and didn’t think anything of it because it was just life. I have a lot of respect for people like this. We can learn so much from them.
