Describe the last difficult “goodbye” you said.

While I certainly enjoy my children as adults and teenagers I miss them being babies and toddlers. At the time I was experiencing the chaos and neediness of young children and babies it seemed like it would last forever. Now it seems as though those days were gone in a blink.

The days are long but the years are definitely short. I feel like my oldest was born yesterday and now she’s almost two.

Yes, when you step back and look at it it really does go fast.

My oldest is 41 this year – and the years have zipped by. The toughest good-by was watching my son drive down the driveway in our old Jeep driving himself to school for the first time. I missed the conversations we used to have when I drove him. Ditto with my daughter.

The last difficult goodbye was watching my husband pass away. It was a moment when all that I felt turned into numbness. Very hard time.
