Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

When I was younger I had more of a variety of hobbies I used to do. I used to do latch hook, sewing, painting, and drawing. Now when I have spare time I usually read . I read back then too but much more now.

I also used to do a lot of needlework (rug hooking, crochet, knitting etc.) but only sew now.

So many different sewing projects. I would like to revisit them at some point but not sure when.

Sports was a big hobby. I used to buy season tickets to hockey. I’ve outgrown them when I moved. To a major city to a major. Minor league is just the same as major, just no name recognition. The arena was smaller, and you can see. 1 game in the NHL got me to look for new hobbies. The prices are ridiculous. I watch on tv from time to time, now I stopped that hobby and started new by reading and going to book clubs.

It’s really a shame and what do we see now? Not true sports fans but just people who can afford to go to games, buy the season tickets and the merchandise all in the name of having to have the status. You’re better off with books and the occasional game watched on tv.

Yep. Minor league games are just as good. A lot of the players move on to the majors
I’ll spend$40 a few times for baseball. But never $400 for football

I used to Cross-Stitch and latch-hook, which I no longer do. Now I sew and crochet, in addition to my reading 🙂

So many things I don’t keep up with either, but I would like to revisit these things again at some time.

That is beautiful. I see a lot of older women doing these.

Hobbies fade in and out according to where I am in my life. I’ve done “yarning” for most of my life, used to be more crochet, now more knitting. For years I didn’t read as much but now I have more time and I’m reading more again. I used to sew more but not as much as since I have a larger wardrobe than I need. I have again picked up embroidery, something I did quite a lot in the seventies! I even taught myself to tat. I might pick that back up too. Macrame, DIY projects, home projects, plants (both house and garden). I guess it’s a good thing I’m semi-retired!!

That’s very true. If day most of us that have an interest in hobbies usually come back to try them against n even though it may be many years between times. My favorite thing right now is reading in my spare time. Enjoy all your projects and interests and enjoy that semi-retirement. Thanks for stopping in today.
