Lost memories. Lost loves. Can they find their way back to each other?

Gem has finally moved on from hers and Will’s break-up. With a new life and boyfriend, the last thing she expects is a call to say Will needs her – the man who nearly destroyed her.

As Will recovers, he is determined to prove to Gem that he is the man he once was. But by unlocking the secrets of his past, will he be able to piece together what caused him to change so dramatically? And, faced with the choice, will Gem continue with the safe new life she has built for herself, or will she go back to the man she used to love?

“Cover Reveal for Somebody I Used to Love …” that was all that was visible of the subtitle in my email inbox, and I read that wrong at first. Anyway, it sounds like a quite interesting book with a unique premise and it is a beautiful cover. I had amnesia myself after a ski accident in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, but I lost only three days. Well at first almost everything was gone but it came back and only three days stayed lost.

Oh, that’s scary. Thank goodness you recovered as quickly as you did. The thought of amnesia is terrible, I don’t know anyone personally who had it. To think some, it takes years to recover, or they never do.

Yes, it all depends on the size of the brain damage. I had a concussion combined with a shock from the sudden pain resulting from the bad shoulder displacement I had, and that gave me temporary amnesia. For people with serious brain damage the amnesia is much worse. My friends (I was skiing with friends) were really worried because they did not know if my memory would come back. I remember them coming into my room and asking questions like “Thomas do you remember me?”, “what is my name?”, “what happened at the German border?”. Except for the three days I am still missing, my memory came back very quickly. Three days after the accident everything came back in a matter of hours.

I was quite happy while I had amnesia. I was happy about all the attention I got. Then I remembered all my problems, the ruined vacation and the fact that I had a final exam in statistical mechanics when I came back to Sweden. I asked my professor if I could take the exam later because of my accident and my amnesia but he would not accept it so I had to take the exam. Statistical mechanics is as bad of a subject as it sounds. I passed the exam but not with flying colors.

Oh man, that sound so painful. Yes, I can imagine your friends being very worried. Not able to postpone it, wow. He sounds like a hardline jerk to be honest. How about a little compassion. Getting a fuss made over is not a bad thing. Thank goodness it all worked out in the end.
