The Daily Prompt

Daily writing prompt
What could you do differently?

credit

I’m not going to get into any mumbo jumbo with this answer.

I’ll just give you a nice simple answer:

What I would do differently is not go out in the yard after our big snowstorm yesterday. Unfortunately, I fell last evening and went to ER today to see if my ankle was fractured or broken. Turns out neither one, so it’ll heal quicker, I hope. They said I tore either tendons or ligaments in my ankle, they can’t tell because an X-ray only shows bones. If I want to know I’ll have to get an MRI. I just want the pain to go away. Limited mobility isn’t where it’s at. You know I wanted an excuse to just sit around and read and I think I’m gonna take that back.

Have a great day, stay safe and thanks for stopping in.

I’m sorry to hear you fell, but it is a relief to know you didn’t break anything. At least you don’t have that worry on top of the pain. Let others pamper you and enjoy your books. Get well soon!

I’m enjoying all these wonderful books I have. Thank you for your kind words. After I fell in thought of us just talking about falling. Geez, I didn’t think it would happen to me. I haven’t fallen on the ice in years and I wasn’t hurt back when I did.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. It seems like they don’t think an MRI is necessary. My sister-in-law fell and slipped last year around this time. It is certainly not fun. I hope you heal well and quickly.

No, it’s not fun with limited mobility and it’s painful at that. Thank you for your kind words. I hope your sister- in-law is feeling much better at this point.

Don’t worry it is. The body is more resilient than you think. Try this technique I have been using for years, might sound crazy but won’t hurt not even a lil to try it. “Talk to your body, give yourself a time limit to heal and see what happens. It’s a mind thing but don’t stay down for too long.

I’m sorry to hear that you fell. I also live in a place that snows 1/2 the year, and I have not packed my zaks-tracks in the car yet. Sure enough, most of the town was plowed clear – except for the parking lot I needed to use. Luckily, it had snowed over the ice, so I could walk over the minefield to get to my meeting.
Take care of yourself,

Thank you and you’re welcome. No fun for sure. So glad you were able to make it across the parking lot without falling. Going to the orthopedic Dr tomorrow to find out how it’s healing and to see what the next steps are.
