My Thoughts
When a group of women plan a relaxing shopping trip and one of them turns up missing, they all are worried but hope their friend will be found soon. This pregnant woman is found in the wooded area that she walks her dog in, murdered.
After another pregnant friend is found murdered in the same area also with Satanic marks on her the town’s women are scared. Who would kill pregnant women and why, it is some crazy nutcase?
Linking the cases is a small plastic doll found in the hand of each of the women, a figure meant to bring luck.
When detective Jo realizes more women are in danger, she realizes she must race against the clock to keep these other pregnant women safe.
The author writes a fast-paced crime thriller that will have you racing through the pages as you hold your breath trying to figure out who and why. You will not see the unexpected twist coming.

Author bio
M.M. Chouinard’s first fiction story was published in her local paper when she was eight, and she fell in love with Agatha Christie novels not long after. While pursuing a Ph.D in psychology and helping to found the first U.S. research university of the new millenium, the stories kept rattling around inside her skull, demanding to come out. For sanity’s sake, she released them. She’s currently at work on her seventh novel.

Nice review, Deanne. Have you read the series or just this one? Can they be read as standalone stories?

I haven’t read the series but I’m going to go out on a limb and say each one could be read as a stand alone.
