Windswept Way (A Hope Harbor Novel Book #9) by Irene Hannon

354 pages Revell publisher April 4, 2023 publish date

About the Book

Buying a haunted house was never in Ashley Scott’s plans, but when an intriguing opportunity drops into her lap after a major setback, she finds herself trekking cross-country to Hope Harbor on the Oregon coast to launch a new life.

Wounded warrior Jonathan Gray isn’t sure what to make of the attractive woman on his reclusive older neighbor’s isolated property, but her presence is none of his business–until she enlists his help with an ambitious project. When Jonathan finds his interest in the new arrival becoming more personal than professional, however, his defenses go up. There’s no room in his life–or his heart–for romance.

Yet, as these three hurting people join forces to restore life, laughter, and love to a historic estate that has known too much sadness, they may also find healing, hope, and happiness for themselves.

Bestselling author Irene Hannon invites you back to Hope Harbor, where hearts heal and love blooms.

My Thoughts

I am so glad the author has decided to continue this series. It is one of my favorites. A perfect women's fiction book that has all you need compassion, romance, a new start in life, and a beautiful lesson all while being inspirational but not preachy. I have read so many in this series and I love meeting up with the new characters and the familiarity of the same characters throughout the series.
I especially enjoy Taco guy Tony. He's full of compassion and a philosopher at heart. The seagulls too, though I can't remember their names. They are in the books too and I enjoy them. Rose is thought of as a reclusive character, but she is smart as a whip and very talented as well. She has a heart of gold. I fell in love with the descriptions of her "haunted house."
Jonathan Gray is a character that has his defenses' up after a battlefield injury left him physically scared. He doesn't feel worthy of love but when an attractive woman asks for his help managing some items on the property, he deals with his defense's start to crumble. Such a beautiful and poignant writing. An overlooking of the outer and seeing the beauty within story.
Highly recommended.

Body of Evidence (Triple Threat #3) by Irene Hannon-Review

About The Book

Forensic pathologist Grace Reilly has seen her share of unusual deaths in rural Missouri. But when she begins to notice a curious pattern in autopsies of elderly residents whose demise appears to be natural, she takes her concerns to Sheriff Nate Cox.

Nate is skeptical about the link Grace is seeing between the deaths–and her suspicions of foul play. But her persistence is compelling. Once she finally convinces him her theory is credible and they join forces to investigate, danger follows. Because exposing the truth could destroy several lives–including Grace’s.

My Thoughts

Body of Evidence is the third book in the Triple Threat series by Irene Hannon and boy does she write a compelling suspense story. I was unable to put this down and read it completely in two settings. Each story in this series features a sister and this one is Grace Reilly, a forensic pathologist in rural Missouri, not exactly a place where you would suspect suspicious deaths to be occurring. The elderly is dying, not an unusual thing you’d say, and I’d agree with you but Grace suspects they are related in an unnatural way. They have similar autopsy findings, and she has suspicions of foul play.
I enjoyed seeing the interactions between forensic pathologist, Grace and Sheriff Nate Cox.
Will she be able to show him she has the credible evidence to get him to investigate it though?
With my son being involved in law enforcement it’s fascinating to read a book so well researched such as this one that really digs below the surface to show us what’s really going on.
Suspenseful and intriguing. recommended!

Sea Glass Cottage (Hope Harbor #8) By Irene Hannon Book Review

I am so excited to hear there will be more books released in this series.

My Review

Revisiting Hope Harbor,Oregon is such a delight. It is a true homecoming to this charming coastal town where the characters are always welcoming and more than willing to lend a hand or an ear when needed.
Christi Reece is a woman out of options, owing money she doesn’t have she desperately tracks down a man from her past sure he can help her.
Author Jack Colby has made a new start, far away of the humiliation caused to him by Christi in what feels like a lifetime ago. Getting a shock he realizes she has tracked him down here and he wants no parts of her or the past memories of their failed romance.
What ensues is a surprise to both of them I’d say. She unfortunately has to stay in town longer than she had wanted to.
I really enjoyed making the reconnection with the characters from previous books, especially the “taco guy” who always has a kind word and good advice to pass along.
Christi wants Jack to forgive her for the past and for him to put his trust in her. As he starts to rewarm to her he enjoys her company more and more but will it lead to a romantic reconnection?
So heartwarming, I enjoyed seeing down on her luck Christi get another chance at a better life.
There was a bit of a mystery surrounding an unfinished cottage and this had a fitting resolution as well. Superb book and I look forward to more books in this warm and engaging series.
