Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

Beautiful Lily of the Valley flora blooming in April

Though you all know me by the name Deanne, it’s not actually my first name

I started going by my middle name, Deanne when I was 13 because I like it better than my actual first name which is Aprul. My Mom named me after my dad’s birth month. As you can see she wanted to spell it differently as well.

Aprul

The fertile one,” also, “she who opens for fertilization,” based on the Latin aperilis or aprilis, “the opening thing,” in allusion to the month of April, when the earth opens for fertilization. April Name Origin: Latin.

What’s your dream job?

Pinterest

Dream job you say? Ask yourself, is there even any such thing? A dream job implies things will be easy , no stress , no worries and everything will work out dandy. But in reality there’s no such thing as a “dream job” If there was, we’d all be there and no one would work the ordinary jobs. Whether you’re at a warehouse, in an office or working at the local fast food place we all have good and bad days at work that can be so full of frustration. Doesn’t matter if you’re answering to the boss man or you’re fortunate enough to be your own boss there will be challenges and start up costs if you’re doing it on your own. There are no stress free dream jobs, if you’ve found one please let me know.

If you could un-invent something, what would it be?

The gun is what I would un-invent.

Trigger warning death -suicide

Guns here in the US cause way too many deaths. Too easily accessible. Too easy to just grab a gun and shoot someone over a minor disagreement. Too many mass shootings, school shootings, domestic violence shootings, very young children grabbing improperly secured guns and shooting themselves or young siblings. My son ( the one whose wife just had twins ) is a police detective. Police get shot by mentally unstable people. When he was doing his police training before he even became an officer he told me as part of his training when he was doing a ride along with another officer and he was there to just observe. One of the saddest cases he told me about was it was over Thanksgiving weekend and the parents had just returned home from visiting family and their 14 year old son didn’t want to go when they returned home they found him on the couch and he had ended it all. Without that gun he wouldn’t have been able to do that .

Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

I feel loved when he unexpectedly brings me tea in the morning. When we share a laugh, a special look. When I looked it into my children’s eyes after their birth. When I’m tired and want to relax and my cats lay on me and purr.

Where can you reduce clutter in your life?

I am happier when I get rid of clutter. Clearing out things in my house makes my mind feel clearer and with the open space in rooms I think of new ways to get out what I already have to redecorate the room.

What is your favorite animal?

I love all animals and I’m a vegetarian. I can’t stand the thought of any suffering. . I am the one who will catch bees, scary spiders and other bugs in the house with a glass and a book on the top of it so they can’t escape and puts them outside. My kids have started telling me about a bug they want me to take care of too. I live in a rural area and as much as I love animals one day I saw a harmless black snake in my kitchen silverware drawer and believe me, I didn’t try to catch that sucker but you should have heard me scream 😮 Another time there was the same type of snake on a medium sized table we had in the living room. I didn’t realize it was real because it wasn’t moving . I went over to look at it because the kids were too old to play with toy snakes and I wondered how it got on the table. As I was walking over to the table it slithered off the table and into a vent never to be seen again. When it moved I jumped back so quickly I almost tripped over my own feet.

Anyways I got off track and my favorite animals right now are my two cats . Iris will be 10 in April , we’ve had her since she was 6 weeks old and she had a feral mother. Though she’s been with us for almost her whole life she is still shy at times. Iris is the tiger stripe one.

Charlie is our black and white kitten 6 months old. We got him when he was 2 months old after our kitty Hugo died this past August. Our cats are spayed and neutered and indoor only kitties. Tell me about your pets.

Have a beautiful day 🌹💕

In what ways do you communicate online?

Very carefully. I do enjoy being online but I’m not interested in any nonsense. I remember when we first got computers and someone was telling me they couldn’t get through on our phone line. Well yeah, we had dial up, all that was available at the time. Thank goodness that’s changed.

I use my blog for communication, also X, Facebook and Instagram. I don’t like Instagram and use Facebook considerably less than I used to. I only use X to share my blog posts. I use texting and my family and I have a group chat we use and also text individually. I had Pinterest but haven’t used it in years. I use Goodreads and get message notifications there about the Goodreads groups I’m in. I use email, AOL is what I use. I have Gmail for the different Google services but rarely use their email. I don’t like the format of Gmail.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Think back on your most memorable road trip.

My most recent memorable road trip was July 2022. My husband and I went on a week long anniversary road trip. I had no idea where we were even going. My husband and I visited all of the New England States in the United States.

I really enjoyed Boston, Mass. It was a place I had wanted to go for a long time and we didn’t even get lost for going there the first time because we did the Freedom Trail a 2.5 red brick trail through Boston that passes by 17 locations significant to the history of the United States. It winds from Boston Common in downtown Boston, to the Old North Church in the North End and the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. Stops along the trail include simple explanatory ground markers, graveyards, notable churches and buildings, and a historic naval frigate. Most of the sites are free or suggest donations, although the Old South Meeting House, the Old State House, and the Paul Revere House charge admission. The Freedom Trail is overseen by the City of Boston’s Freedom Trail Commission[2] and is supported in part by grants from various non-profit organizations and foundations, private philanthropy, and Boston National Historical Park. We also visited Maine and the beautiful rugged coast. One thing that surprised me about most of the New England states was there are a lot less fast food restaurants and more local places which is a refreshing change from what I am used to.

The New England states are really beautiful and I look forward to more visits there.

The coast of Maine is rugged and magnificent.

I hope you’ll enjoy any road trips you may go on as well.

What snack would you eat right now?

I’ll say it, I’ll admit it. I’m in love with cheese 🧀

I love cheese in most any form but ooey, gooey melted cheese has got to be my favorite.

My snack of choice would be melty cheese sticks. Now I’m hungry for them. 😋
