What job would you do for free?

I would enjoy teaching others to read. I don’t understand how the illiteracy rate is so high in the United States and many that can read have a 6th grade reading level. Okay not everyone enjoys reading books on their own time and I can understand that but you need to be able to read to function in society. What about signing legal forms, getting a job, ordering from a menu, helping your child with homework and lots more. Do these people just look at pictures? I’m not making fun of anyone I’m just genuinely wondering how someone could function being illiterate.

What Olympic sports do you enjoy watching the most?

I’m not a TV watcher and I’ll be honest I don’t care about the Olympics, if they didn’t have them anymore wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. If I absolutely had to watch them for some reason in the past I’ve enjoyed ice skating, gymnastics, ludge and snow boarding. The kids in the past have watched skateboarding 🛹 and I’ve enjoyed watching that . Those skateboarders are pretty daring and talented.

How would you improve your community?

I live in a rural community with cattle farms and one red light. I wouldn’t change anything because it would lose its charm. This is the village I live in, it’s called Fort Loudon. We’ve had a ton of rain the past few days and as you can see the creek is over its banks. The tree that has the white sign on it is where the path is my son and I went walking on a few days ago. As you can see the creek is pretty high. Also under the bridge is a pretty good sized walking area that’s flooded too.

How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

Covid has been the worst thing I’ve seen the world go through in my lifetime. No one was spared, it was in every country. I got 3 immunizations including my booster. Every time I got immunized I had full blown covid symptoms for 5 days straight. I got covid twice, lost my sense of taste once. All that is nothing though because so many lost their life over this needlessly and so many are still experiencing long term symptoms because of it. How can you adapt to the changes this horrendous thing has brought about? Just like after 9/11 and the heightened security. You have no choice you just go with the flow. Increased pricing affected all of us, our car insurance just went

for the fourth time in a year. Groceries are out of sight, homelessness is a major problem, the people in charge of our country are not helping matters. Okay end of rant but yeah covid did none of us any favors.

What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?

Get up, then get the kids up for school, brush teeth, I always shower at bedtime so no need for that, skin care routine , spend time giving my cats lots of attention, they will accept no less, scoop their box, give them food, get the kids out the door, drink water, I always feel better after I hydrate and some mornings I go out walking them I’ll come home and make tea .

Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

Each of us is unique, we are all our own individual person and while we may have similar likes and dislikes of someone else it’s our differences from anyone else that makes us unique.

If you could have something named after you, what would it be?

Nothing. I don’t seek fame, attention or notoriety.

What makes you laugh?

Good clean humor, not that nasty vulgar stuff that passes as humor today. My husband, my children, my cats.

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was five I remember wanting to grow up to be a mother and that’s exactly what I did.

What’s something most people don’t understand?

I think the elderly are misunderstood. They may seem like they are complaining about something but they just want to voice their opinions and have a listening ear. People don’t understand how lonely they get and many see them as a nuisance, which is absolutely not true. They just want to be validated and not be invisible.
