Just like the books I read I enjoy a variety of music genres. I grew up listening to the oldies my mom listened to so I enjoy a lot of them. When I was growing up I listened to Def Leppard, Beastie Boys, Boy George, George Michael, Stray Cats , Metallica, Poison, Motley Crue and lots more. So I like some rap, done heavy metal, 90’s, upbeat pop, hair bands and more. I don’t enjoy jazz or big band music.
My most memorable vacation to date was a surprise anniversary trip two years ago. I’ve been telling my husband I had wanted to visit Boston for a while. You have to understand, I live in a rural area, we have cows, fields, the stink of manure , farming accidents and one stoplight in our village. Of course I’ve been to big cities before, Pittsburgh, Chicago, etc but not often. I wanted to go to Boston and we did . We drove up through New York and parts of Pennsylvania I had never been to before. It was a surprise and he wouldn’t tell me where we were going. I was so excited because we went to all the New England states and there was so much to see and do. My two favorite New England states ended up being Massachusetts and Maine. We’ve gone back several times since then and I look forward to visiting again.
I don’t consider myself an authority on anything. I have many interests I could talk to you about: children, animals esp. cats, nutrition, different types of tea, nature, beauty and skin care, history esp the American Civil War and more things. Am I an authority on them, no. You can always find someone who knows more than you but I’m always willing to learn more.
Romantic is respect given and received from the other person. You have their back and they have yours, when there’s a problem you talk it out respectfully. Romantic is not making those tik tok videos insulting your partner for likes and follows that’s disrespectful. Romantic is chivalry , chivalry is not dead. Demand better for yourself ladies. Show him you deserve the best. My husband opens doors for me when we enter a building and he also opens my car door when I get in and out of the car. I’ve never asked him to he just does it. Do little things for each other , bring him a snack in the evening, snuggle up to him on the couch. It’s a two way street all relationships are give and take.
There are so many ways to express gratitude , it just depends on who this gratitude is expressed towards.
A simple thank you, a smile, a kiss and hug, a surprise small gift, flowers, a trip out to dinner, a homemade sweet treat, just doing something nice for someone, bringing them a cold drink on a hot day. Lots and lots of ways to show gratitude and appreciation.
A great teacher goes above and beyond basic teaching. A teacher needs to have a passion for what they teach and that way you’ll become interested in the subject and want to learn about it and to please them. A teacher needs to keep students updated on things in a timely manner. School districts now use portals to post grades and also post upcoming assignments. This can be a great thing…….. Or not! Unfortunately over the past few years I’ve noticed it sometimes takes teachers weeks to place grades for assignments in the portal so you don’t have an accurate overall grade either. I believe teachers still need to contact parents if a child’s grades are not up to snuff or they are not doing assignments like they used to. Now everything goes in the portal and there’s less teacher/parent involvement. Teachers need to have compassion. Some students are shy and will not ask a teacher for help if they don’t understand an assignment or a subject in general. Teachers can see a pattern in the students work and need to offer help to this student outside of class time, like during an empty class time, before or after school or during a teacher’s lunch time. Teachers have a powerful impact on students and are remembered for years to come for how they acted so good or bad, caring and compassionate or not. Teachers let your voice be heard!
I’ve been up since 5:15 a.m. and it’s now almost 11:30 at night and I’m tired so I’ll make this short and sweet and maybe you won’t see how crabby I am π€π
Well we’ve had a similar prompt recently and I answered it.
On days I don’t go out I get up around 5:30 and go walking for about 3 miles then come home and drink two bottles of water. I’ll then take care of my cats and guinea pigs and do some housework which varies from day to day, several times a week I’ll mop but I have my daily every day chores as well. Laundry is a constant. I’ll try to fit some time in for reading right about now . I don’t usually cook breakfast or lunch because they are old enough to cook their own and everybody seems to be on their own time schedule as well. I usually, like 5 days a week cook dinner unless I’m tooΒ tired those nights hubby will cook it or it’s a make your own dinner. That frozen stuff comes in handy sometimes doesn’t it? There’s a variety of things I can do after dinner including yard/garden work , washing dishes and sometimes it’s nothing. When it cools in the evening I like to take a walk before bedtime . Next is my bedtime shower to cool off and relax then reading time and bed.
Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?
To me a sustainable lifestyle is one where I feel good that day both mentally and physically. I try to get enough sleep, take me time , spending time in nature, strengthening relationships, especially with my husband and children, keeping physically fit, eating properly, showering before bed to cool off and relax , proper skin care.
