What do you complain about the most?
I really don’t like to complain as I’m so grateful for what I have and am able to do. When I do complain my biggest complaint is about not having enough time to read.
I am still raising kids and though some are still teenagers some are in their twenties and still living at home . It’s hard for adult children to leave home now because of the astronomical cost of housing, utilities groceries and everything else. This makes it unfair on the parents and children alike as you don’t really have the responsibility of adulthood until you’re gone and handling things out on your own.

If I might add, that can be a plus too. In India we have large families where children live with parents and bring the money home. Therefore pooling the resources, reducing expenses and reducing the burden of ageing parents by taking care of them. Just a perspective.

And this is the way it should be. I love this selflessness.

I, too, would like more time to read. We had a homily from our pastor on Sunday about patience and being the salt of the earth. I’ve told my husband, “Patience, salt!” a few times when he is complaining. It works!

Great sermon topic. Dialing it back a bit sure doesn’t hurt.

seems like we have a number of those similar issues. kids still needing help. a few years ago, the “sandwich” generation–those also caring for elders as well as kids. a family is a huge commitment.

No doubt about it twenty somethings not leaving and parents moving back in in some cases. It is a huge commitment.
