Daily Prompt 19 May Sunday

Have you ever broken a bone?

I thought I had my first broken bone back in January of this year when I fell on the ice in my backyard. Turns out it was a partially torn ligament that I had to rehab for 3 months. I truly don’t believe the pain could be any worse if it had been broken . So no broken bones but it sure felt like it when I fell on my ankle.

Thank you for your kind words. It took 3 months to heal. It probably wouldn’t have even taken that long if it was broken. Fully healed now, thank goodness and no more pain. I credit it to lots of walking when I was able to and physical therapy helped a lot.

I’ve broken a couple of minor bones. I broke my big toe falling in the stairs and my middle finger when I fell in a ski slope. In both cases I did not think anything was broken at first. It took me a few weeks to go to the doctor for the toe bone and it had already healed but in a crooked way. He said that my big toe would always be crooked unless he broke it again and then put it together. I decided to keep my toe crooked. Anyway, I think a torn ligament would hurt a lot more than breaking little bones.

It’s so hard to know sometimes if a bone is broken or not or even fractured. Glad things weren’t overly serious with you and yes at that point I’d just keep the toe crooked too. Forget that them needing to rebreak it.
