Daily Prompt 2 April Tuesday

How have you adapted to the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic?

Covid has been the worst thing I’ve seen the world go through in my lifetime. No one was spared, it was in every country. I got 3 immunizations including my booster. Every time I got immunized I had full blown covid symptoms for 5 days straight. I got covid twice, lost my sense of taste once. All that is nothing though because so many lost their life over this needlessly and so many are still experiencing long term symptoms because of it. How can you adapt to the changes this horrendous thing has brought about? Just like after 9/11 and the heightened security. You have no choice you just go with the flow. Increased pricing affected all of us, our car insurance just went

for the fourth time in a year. Groceries are out of sight, homelessness is a major problem, the people in charge of our country are not helping matters. Okay end of rant but yeah covid did none of us any favors.

I’m glad to hear you never got it. I’m really surprised to hear that. I thought everybody had gotten it at least once. Those are just staggering numbers so sad and needless. I’m so sorry for your loss. Nobody I personally knew died from it.

I read that 77.5% of the US population had covid-19 at some point, but I am among the other 22.5% despite the fact that everyone around me, including my wife got it. However, I got every vaccination (four of them) and I think that helped. However, my wife and daughter both got the vaccines as well, and they still got covid-19 and my daughter lost her sense of smell.

In addition I was also lucky that I did not get a reaction to the vaccine unlike my wife and daughter and most other people I know. All I had was a little bit of brief soreness in the arm.

My husband and I got two shots. We didn’t get Covid for three years, although lots of people around us did. Then we got it last fall after a plane trip to Utah (I always come back with something from trips there). It wasn’t awful, probably because we were immunized, but I don’t need a booster shot. I have my own immunity, and the virus has mutated anyway. I am looking forward to CRISPR treatment for such viruses, which will convey permanent immunity.

You were both very fortunate to be able to avoid it for so longer. I had never heard of the Crispr treatment before or know too much about it. I hope it works the way you think it will.
