Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?
I feel loved when he unexpectedly brings me tea in the morning. When we share a laugh, a special look. When I looked it into my children’s eyes after their birth. When I’m tired and want to relax and my cats lay on me and purr.

At 17 years old, I joined the US Air Force. The next year, I married. That fall, I was sent on an unaccompanied assignment to Clark Air Base in the Philippines. I’d be there for fifteen months. My wife returned to live with her parents. In my first December overseas, I ended up with mono and was bedridden most of the month, finally arising on December 23. I’d not been out to get my mail for almost three weeks. When I went to the post office, I discovered a huge gift box sent by my wife. It contained lots of food like home baked cookies and brownies, but best was a small chain she made. She’d taken a series of photos of each family member holding up a letter to spell Merry Christmas and then tied them all together so I could hang them up.
Yes, I felt loved.
