My grandmother was an excellent seamstress, her name was Hazel. Growing up it was just my mother and I and we didn’t have a lot of money so I didn’t have a lot of material things. I didn’t wear the latest fashions and was teased sometimes and embarrassed. My grandparents lived about an hour away but my grandfather died when I was just 9 so it was just my grandmother, my mom and myself. My grandmother didn’t live with us. When I was young I had some barbie dolls and as a surprise ,my grandmother made a bunch of beautiful barbie clothes for them and they even had snaps, buttons and zippers. As a child when I outgrew dolls I no longer wanted them. I really wish my mom had kept them . I don’t know where they are now.

Yes it would have been nice for you to still have your childhood’s barbie dolls. Unfortunately, I think it is a very typical story. I was very attached to my teddy bear when I was a kid. My parents threw it in the garbage bin when it started falling apart.

I’m sorry to hear that. As a child we don’t care that the things have gotten thrown away but looking back on the nostalgic side of things you wish you had them for the good memories. At least I do. ⭐
